Beastwood – Overview
Quickspin has released a new online slot game and it’s called Beastwood.
The game revolves around a hunter guy going out looking for monsters. So let’s say a sort of The Witcher character.
Beastwood starts out with 3 reels that are each 4 symbols high. But you can get more and more reels, because the game adds a new reel after each winning spin.
Besides regular card symbols and monster symbols, you will also find wild and bonus symbols on all reels.
Beastwood comes with a maximum payout of 29.541 times your bet, pretty high!
Beastwood Features
Endless Reels
When you get a winning combination and extra reel is added on the right. If that added reel improves your win, another reel is added. This keeps repeating until no better win appears. After this the reels are reset back to 3.
Symbol Win Multiplier
Each winning combination starts with a multiplier of x1. But when more than one symbol of the same type appears on the reels, the number of symbols will then multiply the general multiplier. At the end of the spins, when the win is no longer improved, the total win is determined by the value of the winning symbols and total multiplier.
This sounds a bit difficult, but once you play it becomes clear very fast.
Reel Multiplier
During the base spins a x2 multiplier appears above reel 5 and after each 3rd reel after that. This multiplier will multiply the total symbol win multiplier.
Free Spins Feature
4 scatter symbols will award 10 free spins. Any extra scatter symbol will add 3 more free spins.
During free spins the x2 reel multiplier now appears above reel 4 and on each reel after that.
Each scatter symbol appearing during free spins will add 1 more free spin.
Bonus Buy
Some casinos will offer the option to buy the free spins feature for 120 times your bet.
Verdict
The mechanism with the added reels after each win is not new. Several slots have that mechanism, including Gods of Gold INFINIREELS. Quickspin calls it Endless Reels, but it’s all the same.
Me personally, I don’t like this mechanism. I like a set number of reels and that’s it. But it is a new way to play and I know a lot of players do enjoy this feature.
Of course you need to accumulate those multipliers to get some big wins, or even huge wins. And this can rack up pretty fast, especially during free spins with those x2 reel multipliers.
And with one of their biggest maximum wins ever, I think Quickspin created a game that will attract some die hard slot players for sure. I’m not sure if new players will enjoy it, but who knows.
Even though I don’t like these types of games personally, it’s a good game and you should at least give it a try if you never played a game like this.
