About a year ago Thunderkick released Baron Bloodmore. A vampire themed game with several features. Well I guess that game has been popular enough to release a new game with the same features and bonuses, Lost City of the Djinn.
This new version is exactly the same game, only with another theme and a slight reduction of the return to player. But so small it’s ignorable.
This time they went for a 1001 night theme with a Middle Eastern theme with magic lamps, djinns and different characters, together with standard card symbols.
The game uses 5 reels which are each 3 symbols high and comes with 20 lines.
High paying symbols and wild symbols can appear stacked on all reels. The special scatter to trigger the Djinn Spins Game can also appear stacked. Free spins symbols and standard card symbols only appear single on all reels.
Lost City of the Djinn comes with a pretty high maximum payout of 25.000 times your bet.

Massive Mystery Symbol
At random a giant block of 3×3 symbols might appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. This symbol can land full or partially.
After the symbol landed it will change into one and the same symbol. This can be any symbol except Free Spins or Scatter symbols.
Free Spins Feature
3, 4 or 5 Free Spins symbols will award 10, 15 and 20 free spins respectively.
During free spins the Massive Mystery Symbol appears on every free spin.
You can’t win more free spins during this feature.
Djinn Spins Game
If you get at least one scatter symbol on at least 3 different reels you will trigger the Djinn Spins bonus.
You will be awarded with 3 respins and all scatters that triggered the bonus are locked in place.
During respins normal symbols don’t appear and only cash scatters, special feature symbols or blank spaces can land. When any symbol lands it will also lock in place and the respins are reset to 3.
Beside the cash symbol, which can have a number between 1 and 50. You can also get an upgrade symbol, that will add its own value to all other symbols, ot a copy symbol that will collect all other values and adds it to itself.
An added bonus during these respins is the Pattern Collect. During the respins 5 random positions on the reels will be highlighted. When all these 5 are filled with symbols, all the values of these spots are collected into the middle position and then multiplied by 2. After this the 5 spots are removed and new spots are then added to start it all over again.
Verdict
Of course I like it more when providers create new games and not copy earlier releases. But I do get it. If a game is popular then releasing it again with a new theme might introduce the game to a whole new group of players. That might not enjoy the earlier theme.
I personally liked the original vampire theme, but also like this theme a lot. It’s very colorful and like every Thunderkick slot, pops of your screen.
The bonuses are great. I think both free spins and Djinn spins are great features and can reward some great rewards. Especially the Djinn spins. Of course, also nothing new, it’s one of those respin and collection bonuses, but done in a great way.
Overall I am very happy with Lost City of the Djinn and I am sure most of you will enjoy it too.
