It’s time for another Christmas themed slot game release. This time it’s Pragmatic Play’s turn with Santa’s Wonderland.
Santa’s Wonderland is a slot with an 8 by 8 grid of symbols which uses cluster pays. Meaning any combination of 5 or more of the same symbols connected horizontally or vertically is a winning combination. It also uses cascading symbols, meaning winning symbols are removed and new symbols fall on top to create the options for another win.
Of course the theme is Christmas with Christmas ornaments, toys and Santa being wild. This game does not feature scatter or bonus symbols, bonuses are triggered in a different way.
Spin Features
During any spin 5 random, different colored snowflakes will be added to the grid behind normal symbols.
When a winning cluster appears on top of these snowflakes, you will activate the corresponding bonus. You can activate several bonuses during one spin. These bonuses will be activated after no more normal spins appear and are played out in order.
- Blue Snowflake – Refresh. The grid is cleared of all symbols except wilds, and new symbols fall onto the screen
- Purple Snowflake – Wild Santa. All instances of one type of symbol are transformed into wilds
- Yellow Snowflake – Blocks. Random 2×2 sized giant symbols of the same type are added in random positions on the grid
- Red Snowflake – Supersize. A random block of 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5 of the same symbol is added to the grid
- Green Snowflake – Lucky Santa. Between 5 and 15 wild symbols are added to the grid
Midnight Riches Feature
During any spin all winning symbols are collected. If you collect 140 symbols the Midnight Riches Feature is triggered.
This feature begins at level 1 which starts at a x3 multiplier. And all Spin Features, as mentioned above, will be played out one at a time.
If you manage to fill the meter again during a level, you will move onto the next level and will play out all Spin Features again.
- Collect 116 symbols during level 1 to move to level 2 which will have a x6 multiplier
- Collect 120 symbols during level 2 to move to level 3 which will have a x9 multiplier
- Collect 124 symbols during level 3 to move to level 4 which will have a x12 multiplier
- Collect 132 symbols during level 4 to move to level 5 which will have a x15 multiplier
The feature ends after level 5 or when you are not able to reach a new level.
Verdict
Some of you might recognize this game. That’s because Santa’s Wonderland is an exact match of Gems Bonanza. Another Pragmatic Play slot game with the same bonuses and features, just another theme.
But also a different pay table. Gems Bonanza has a maximum win of 10.000 times your bet, while Santa’s Bonanza goes up to x7.500 times your bet. Most players won’t notice the difference because hitting those max wins is very rare.
I liked Gems Bonanza a lot, so I like Santa’s Wonderland a lot too. It’s nice to have a Christmas version of the game to play in the December month.
