It’s been a while since I posted about a new NetEnt slot game. At least that’s how it feels.
But great news, they have released another new game just before the end of 2021 called Silverback Gold.
If you are familiar with NetEnt, you might notice instantly that Silverback Gold feels a lot like Gorilla Kingdom. And in fact a lot of the features and setup is the same and even the theme is the same. But this new version does have a higher volatility and comes with some other small differences.
The game is played on 5 reels, each 4 symbols high and uses 1024 ways. The game features all sorts of animal symbols, including a gorilla and also comes with scatter and wild symbols on all reels.
You can also trigger random features and a very exciting free spins feature.
Silverback Attack
This feature will randomly trigger during normal spins and free spins bonus. Between 6 and 20 gorilla symbols (the premium symbol) will be added onto the reels after which the reels stop.
Bonus Game and Free Spins Feature
3 or more scatter symbols anywhere will award the free spins feature. But before free spins start you will first get a re-spin bonus.
You get 3 re-spins and only coins appear on the screen. Each coin will reveal a number of 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 or 25. This is the number of tokens already collected before free spins start. Each time a new con lands, it is held and re-spins are reset. Until you fill the screen or when the re-spins run out.
After this you will start the free spins feature.
You will get 10, 15 or 20 free spins for 3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols.
During free spins you will collect tokens that are added onto normal symbols. Collect enough tokens and medium symbols will be turned into gorilla symbols. You already start with the number of tokens collected during the re-spins.
- 30 tokens will change the crocodiles into gorillas
- 60 tokens will change the leopards into gorillas
- 120 tokens will change the snakes into gorillas
- 200 tokens will change the birds into gorillas
- 300 tokens will change all gorillas into golden gorillas which pay twice as much
During free spins all wild symbols will also have a x2 or a x3 multiplier on them.
And 2, 3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols during free spins will add 3, 10, 15 and 20 more free spins.
Verdict
Like I said at the beginning of this post, Silverback Gold is very, very similar to Gorilla Kingdom. Same theme, almost the same bonus and even the same 1024 ways setup.
So I am unsure why they have released this game. Other than the fact that Silverback Gold is much more volatile and can reward a lot more winnings.
I always like these free spins features where you have to collect symbols to upgrade the game. That’s why I really likes Gorilla Kingdom and why I also really enjoy Silverback Gold.
I think it’s a great game with a great look and an amazing feature.
