Bao Shi – Overview

Play’n Go has released a new online slot game with the Chinese name Bao Shi. Which has several meanings, including precious stone and to keep or preserve something. But it seems to be a pretty basic looking Asian themed slot with a dragon and other, often used symbols.

The reels are set within a temple and a giant dragon is peeking over the top of the reels.

The game uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 1024 ways instead of paylines.

Besides low paying card symbols you will also find medium paying classic Asian themed symbols like fish and ingots. The highest paying symbol is the Lioras symbol, what looks like the dragon. There are also scatter symbols on all reels. Wild symbols, which are drums and appear on reels 2, 3 and 4.

Bao Shi comes with a pretty big maximum payout of 15.000 times your bet and is a medium to high volatile slot game.

Features

Lioras Blessings

Each time one or more wilds, drums, appear on the reels, they are collected by the Lioras above the reels. At any point when a drum is collected, Lioras Blessing may trigger, awarding 2 or 3 random golden coins on reels 2, 3 and/or 4. These coins are wild symbols and can also come with a x2 or x3 multiplier.

All Lioras symbols that appear on the reels are also upgraded to a golden version, which are worth more.

Free Spins Feature

3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols will award 8, 12 and 15 free spins respectively.

During all free spins the Lioras symbols are upgraded to gold versions.

Lioras Blessing can also randomly trigger during any spin and does seem to trigger a lot more often. During free spins it will award between 3 and 5 golden coins with the possibility of a x2, x3, x4 or x5 multiplier.

Each scatter symbol award 1 extra free spins, up to a maximum of 100 free spins.

Verdict

To be honest, Bao Shi is a pretty standard game. At least it feels like that to me.

It offers 1024 ways, can produce random wilds with multipliers and the highest paying symbol upgrades. Which seems like something I have seen before, but I can’t point it out.

It’s not a bad game, not at all and it comes with a big maximum payout. But it just didn’t really impress me.

But, as always, let me know how you feel about this game in the comments section below.

Bao Shi is now available at all Play’n Go casinos.
