Castle of Terror 2 – Overview
Three years ago Big Time Gaming released a slot game called Castle of Terror. A game that came with a Dracula theme. Now in 2025 they have released a sequel with the simple name Castle of Terror 2. But this time they went with the Frankenstein theme but also with a lot more bonuses.
The base reels are set against a dark castle background. And during bonuses you are transferred within the castle of a mad scientist. Also, Frankenstein’s monster is lurking above the reels.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 1024 ways instead of paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols you will also find 4 medium to high paying symbols in the familair Big Time Gaming colors. Brains, Lungs and two different characters. There are also wild symbols, which seems to be Frankenstein himself, which appear on all reels, except reel 1. Scatter symbols can appear on all reels.
Castle of Terror 2 comes with a much lower maximum win than the original, but still a solid 20.160 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.

Bonus Re-spin
During normal spins, when only 1 scatter appears, it will trigger a free re-spin with an associated modifier, depending on what reel the scatter landed.
- Reel 1 – Brains – extra brain symbols are added to all reels

Free spins start with a general multiplier of x1, that goes up by x1 after each winning spin.
There are 2 or 3 modifiers active during free spins, depending if you triggered the bonus with 2 or 3 scatter symbols. The modifiers that become active, depends on the reels the scatters landed on.

You are able to but 2 scatter symbols for 100 times bet and 3 scatter symbols for 300 times bet. Thus triggering free spins.
Verdict
I think the theme works well and also fits with the original Dracula theme. These seem to be the more standard, general monsters around to use. And it makes for a nice looking game.
It also seems that Big Time Gaming took Max Megaways as their blueprint for this sequel. Those games also come with different modifiers that are active during free spins.
Overall Castle of Terror 2 is an enjoyable game with enough different modifiers to keep it interesting. Getting certain combinations.
I do think it’s a shame that this one comes with a much lower maximum payout than the original, no idea why they did that?
