13th Trail Hercules Abyssways – Overview
A year ago Play’n Go released a game called Scourge of Rome which used the Roman Hannibal as a main character and came with these Abyssways. Now, a year later, Play’n Go released 13th Train Hercules Abyssways.
This game also uses the Abyssways, which are now in the name. But this time they used the Greek hero Hercules as the main character. And the 13th trail revers to the story of Hercules needing to complete 12 different tasks to set himself free after murdering his wife and son when he was going mad because of Hera’s jealousy.
It makes for a very Greek mythology looking game with Mount Olympus in the background.
You will find 6 reels which are each 4 symbols high and the game uses 4096 ways instead of paylines. So symbols pay left to right, starting on reel 1, no matter where on the reels.
Besides low paying card symbols you will also find high paying Greek symbols and characters including Hercules as the highest paying symbol. Then there are wild symbols on reels 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. And last we have scatter symbols, which can appear on all reels.
13th Trail Hercules Abyssways comes with an even higher maximum payout than Scourge of Rome, namely 60.000 times bet instead of 40.000. And it’s a high volatile slot game.
Features
Will of Zeus
Wild symbols can land on reels 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. And when 2 or more of them appear at the same time, they can trigger something called Will of Zeus.
Each wild symbols connected by a win has a chance to become a fully stacked wild symbol.
Free Spins Feature
3, 4, 5 or 6 scatter symbols will award 10, 15, 20 and 25 free spins respectively.
During free spins all Hercules symbols are sticky and pay anywhere, like a scatter pays slot.
After each spin a random number of symbols from the lower part of the reels will burn and drop of the reels. Decreasing the number of ways. Then at the start of the new free spin an extra row of symbols is added on top, increasing the number of ways again.
Wild symbols don’t appear during free spins, but now a special Pegasus symbols can appear. When it does, all Hercules symbols move up 1 spot on the reels. If there are less then 3 Hercules symbols on the reels, Hercules symbols are added until you have 3.
Each scatter symbol will add one more free spin, up to a maximum of 50.
Verdict
As with Scourge of Rome, I also really like the theme of 13th Trail Hercules Abyssways. I just love mythological themes in general and somehow they always work for slot games.
But for the rest, this game is the same, except for the higher maximum win potential.
It has the same expanding wild feature in the base game and the same free spins feature. It just uses a different theme.
So, although the game looks amazing and you might not know the other title, it’s the same game. Which was a bit of a surprise to me. I thought it would at least add something new.
You can play either game if you like the gameplay. If you want the bigger maximum win potential, then you have to play 13th Trail Hercules Abyssways.
