Here we have Big Time Gaming’s Christmas release, with the simple name, Christmas Megapots.
To be honest, it’s not the most interesting or nice looking Christmas game out there. The reels are set against a Christmas tree and for symbols they use baubles and bells together with the normal card symbols and also coins. It feels like a quick release, theme wise.
The game uses 6 reels that take a random number of symbols of between 2 and 7 symbols high during each spin. Meaning it’s a Megaways slot that can give up to 117.649 ways per spin.
Besides low paying card symbols and high paying baubles, you will also find scatter symbols on all reels. Wild symbols can appear on all reels, except the first one. And lastly there are coins that can also appear on all reels.
Christmas Megapots comes with a very big maximum payout of 89.600 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Hold and Spin
6 or more coins symbols will trigger the Hold and Spin feature. You are awarded with 3 re-spins.
During re-spins only blank spots, coins, and jackpot symbols appear.
Each time one or more coins land on the reels, the re-spins are reset back to 3. Landing 3 of the same jackpot names will award the associated jackpot.
Free Spins Feature
3 scatter symbols will award 12 free spins and any extra scatter will add 2 more extra free spins.
During free spins any coin that lands will add a x1 multiplier to the general multiplier. This multiplier only applies to normal wins and not to Hold & Spin wins.
Coins that appear are also held for 1 spin, increasing the chance to trigger Hold and Spin.
3 scatter symbols during free spins will add 4 more free spins. And 2 more for any extra scatter above the initial three.
Bonus Buy
You are able to buy the Hold and Spin feature for 35x bet and the free spins for 100x bet, this will award 12 free spins.
Verdict
To be honest, at first I thought this was the exact same game as the recently released White Rabbit 2. But this isn’t the case. It just also uses the Hold and Spin feature, just like that one. But that one is more expanded than this version.
Free spins is also something I believe they have done before, but I have seem to forgotten which game it was.
Overall Christmas Megapots is a fine game. But it doesn’t use anything new and seems to be an amalgamation of earlier titles with a, somewhat simple, Christmas themed added.
But, as with almost all Big Time Gaming slots, the game can pay some incredible wins.
