Dragonfate’s Favor – Overview
Somewhere in 2022, Play’n Go released a game called Raging Rex, that also got two sequels, Raging Rex 2 and Raging Rex 3. And now Play’n Go is offering the same original game again, but with a a different theme in Dragonfate’s Favor.
As soon as you start this new slot you will think of How to Train your Dragon. It has that same look and feel to it. With cute looking dragons and a Viking type setting.
The game uses 6 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 4096 ways instead of paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols there are also medium and high paying dragon symbols. Then there is a stacked wild dragon called Goldar, which can appear on all reels, but only 1 at a time. Normal wilds, which are called hatchlings, which can appear on all reels. And of course also scatter symbols, on all reels.
Dragonfate’s Favor comes with a huge maximum payout of 30.000 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.
Features
Goldar Re-spins
The wild Goldar symbol can land on any reel except the first. It’s a stacked wild symbol and when it lands completely on any reel, it will trigger a re-spin feature.
The wild symbol will stay on screen and move one reel to the left after each re-spin. Any Hatchling wilds that appear in front or behind Goldar, will also become sticky and more along. The re-spins end when Goldar reached the first reel.
Free Spins Features
3 or more scatter symbols anywhere on the reels will trigger the free spins feature. Choose between three different features which one you want to play.
- Alpha Blessing – 3, 4, 5 and 6 scatters will award 6, 9, 12 and 15 free spins – Goldar becomes a sticky symbol during all free spins and will move to a new reel between each spin – 2, 3, 4 and 5 scatters during these spins will add 6, 9, 12 and 15 extra free spins respectively.
- Hatchling Reward – 3, 4, 5 and 6 scatters will award 7, 9, 11 and 13 free spins – Hatchling wilds are sticky during all free spins and can come with a x2 or x3 multiplier, they will move to a new spot on the reels between each spin, Goldar can not appear during this feature – 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatter during free spins will add 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 extra free spins respectively.
- Dragons Gift – 3, 4, 5 and 6 scatters will award 5, 7, 9 and 11 free spins – Both Goldar and Hatchlings wilds are sticky during all free spins and move to a new position between each spin – 2, 3, 4 and 5 scatter symbols during free spins will add 2, 3, 4 and 5 extra free spins respectively.
Verdict
I thought Raging Rex was a pretty cool game with some great features. But it seems the game has been lost in the background after a couple of years. So I understand Play’n Go releasing the game again with a new skin.
And I do really love the theme. It’s a very good looking, fun, upbeat theme that works very well with the game.
Sure, it’s not a new game, in fact it’s an exact copy. But I am sure a lot of players now, don’t even know the original game it’s bases on. So they can discover it now.
