Fate of Dead Blitzways – Overview
In the beginning of this year Play’n Go released a game called Legacy of Gems Blitzways.
I am guessing either the game did pretty well, or the game didn’t make an impact the first time, because now we have Fate of Dead Blitzways, which is basically the same game, but with a bigger maximum payout.
For this one they went back to one of their popular themes, Egyptian. To make it fit into all their “of Dead” slots.
You will find 5 reels that are between 2 and 7 symbols high during any spin. And it uses something they call Blitzways. Which means that symbols pay left to right, in clusters, as long as symbols touch each other. So you need at least 3 reels adjacent and symbols need to touch, but multiple symbols can also go up, touching.
You will also find cascading symbols, meaning that winning combinations are removed and all symbols fall down, new symbols fall on top, creating the option for another win.
Besides low paying card symbols and high paying Egyptian symbols you will also find scatter symbols on all reels. Wild symbols can also appear, but more on those below.
Fate of Dead Blitzways comes with a bigger maximum payout than the Legacy version, namely 20.000 times your bet and is a medium to high volatile slot game.

Wilds
Each winning cluster will leave behind a wild symbol. Each time that wild symbol is then used within a winning combination, it will receive a +1 multiplier, with no limit.
More than one wilds can appear, if more winning clusters appear with no wild symbol already present.
Free Spins Feature
3 scatter symbols will award 8 free spins.
Before free spins start a random wild symbol is added to the reels, which will become a sticky roaming wild, which will stay on the reels for the duration of the free spins. More wilds can appear due to winning clusters, like I mentioned above.
These wilds will keep their multipliers throughout the free spins and can only go up. New wilds will merge with the main wild when both are used in the same combination and their multipliers are added together.
Each scatter appearing during free spins will add 1 more free spin, up to a maximum of 46 free spins.
Verdict
Like I mentioned before, Fate of Dead Blitzways is just a reskin of Legacy of Gems Blitzways.
I like the gems version a little more, just because of the theme. Because this one has a much bigger maximum payout, I would play this one instead.
The Blitzways are something you need to get used to a little bit, sometimes I was like, why isn’t this a winning combination. And then I noticed the symbols weren’t really touching. I would have preferred normal ways a bit better I think. And of course it feels a lot like Megaways, but it isn’t, which can make it a little bit confusing.
Overall I do enjoy this new version, like I also enjoyed the other one. They are fun and somewhat unique slots with big win potential.
