Fire Portals – Overview
Pragmatic Play released a new online slot game called Fire Portals.
This new game comes with a magical theme, with potions, hourglasses and more. One of those themes, that when you see it, you go, oh like that. A bit nondescript to be honest.
The game uses a grid of 7 by 7 symbols and comes with cluster pays. 5 or more of the same symbols, that are horizontally and/or vertically connected, count as a winning combination. And you will also find cascading symbols. Winning symbols are removed from the reels and new symbols fall on top creating the option for another win.
Besides all normal paying symbols you will also find scatter symbols on all reels. Wild symbols are also uses, but these are created because of winning combinations. More on these below.

Fire Portal Wilds
When you get a winning cluster, the symbols are removed and will leave behind a wild symbol.
This new wild will come with a x1 multiplier that will be increased by x1 each time it is used in a winning cluster. It will also move to a new empty position on the reels after each win.
If more than one wild symbols are part of the same winning combination, you will get paid as normal. But then the wilds will merge into one, multiplying their multipliers together. So a x4 and x5 will become a x20 for instance.
The wilds will stay on the reels until no more winning clusters appear and you buy a new spin.
Free Spins Feature
3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 scatter symbols will award 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 free spins respectively.
During free spins all Wild Portals will stay on the reels until the end of the free spins.
3 or more scatters during free spins will retrigger the feature.
Bonus Buy
Some casinos offer the option to buy free spins for 100 times your bet. This will award a minimum of 3 scatter symbols.
Verdict
Fire Portals is a really good game. You can leave the theme for what it is, it’s pretty generic in my opinion. But the gameplay is a lot of fun and exciting.
Especially during free spins when you see those wilds merge into huge multipliers.
