Push Gaming has released a new online slot game called Henry the Ape. Which comes with a theme that seems familiar. With a singing ape. But I think this theme just reminds me of the animated movie Sing somehow.

You will find the reels against a downtown street with symbols like microphones, and rapping apes. It’s a fun looking theme which looks very good.

Henry the Ape uses 6 reels which are each 4 symbols high and comes with 4096 ways instead of paylines.

Besides low paying card symbols and medium and high paying music themed symbols, you also find the ape symbol, which is the highest paying symbol. All symbols can appear stacked on all reels. Nudges

Henry the Ape is the highest paying symbol and it can appear stacked on all reels. When it lands on reels 2, 3, 4 and/or 5 it will trigger a nudge feature.

The Ape symbols will nudge down one spot and all other reels will re-spin. Nudges will continue until no more Ape symbols are on the reels.

Random Features

• Fat Stacks – 1 or 2 full stack of Ape symbols will be added to reels 2, 3, 4 and/or 5
• Drop the Win – This can trigger after a non winning spin and it will add an Ape or wild to the reels to create a win
• Rewind – This can trigger after a non winning spin and will re-spin all reels to create a win
• Second Chance – When you get 2 scatter symbols, it will nudge a third scatter onto the reels to trigger free spins

Free Spins Feature

3 or more scatter symbols will trigger the free spins feature with an upgrade feature. Depending how many scatters trigger the bonus, will determine how the bonus starts.

Verdict

If you have been around online slots for a while this game might remind you a lot of another title from another studio. Which is Pink Elephants from Thunderkick. That one also uses those upgrading symbols during free spins and also came with 4096 ways.

But to be honest, Henry the Ape is more exciting for me. It comes with those multiplier wilds, which can also add a lot to a win. But this one also has the option to buy free spins. And comes with several random features. I also feel like free spins is a bit easier to trigger on this game. It always seemed very hard on Pink Elephants to me.

Overall I think this one is a much more interesting game and I really like it a lot.

It has a fun theme, great features in both the base spins and during free spins and comes with a solid maximum payout.
