Irish Crown is a new online slot game by Pragmatic Play.
And as you might notice from the name, it’s an Irish themed game. Reels are set against an Irish landscape and for symbols you will find gems, clovers and a leprechaun during free spins. It’s not overly done, to be honest, a bit of a basic theme.
The game uses a 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and comes 20 paylines.
Beside low paying card symbols and high paying gems, you will also find wild symbols on all reels. Then there are scatter symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4. The game also features special crown symbols and mystery symbols. All symbols except wilds and scatters, can appear stacked on all reels.

Mystery Symbols
Mystery symbols can appear during any spin. All instances of these symbols will change into one and the same symbol. This can also be a crown symbol.
Crown Symbols
Left of the reels you will find a ladder with ash rewards. Hitting between 3 and 9 crown symbols will award the corresponding reward. Hitting 10 or more, you will trigger the Big Money Bonus.
During the Big Money Bonus all triggering crowns are held and the other symbols will spin and land on a blank spot, or a crown. When a new crown appears, a new re-spin is rewarded. After re-spins are done you will be awarded your reward, which are 50x, 75x, 100x, 150x and 200x your bet for 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 Crowns respectively.
If you manage to get a full screen of crowns, 15 of them, you are awarded a cash prize of 250x, 500x, 1.000x, 2.000x or 5.000 times bet.
Free Spins Feature
Getting all three scatter symbols at the same time will award 10 free spins.
During free spins a special Leprechaun symbol can appear on reel 5. When it appears, a card symbol will become a crown symbol until the end of the feature. Starting with the 10 and moving up to the A, each time it lands. These cards will stay crowns until the end of the feature. Increasing your chance to get a Crown prize

Verdict
You can forget about the theme on this slot. It seems like there was hardly put any effort in. It’s very basic and uses the very basic Irish symbols and characters.
But the gameplay is pretty decent to be honest.
I know it’s nothing really new. These slots with those set win amounts for certain amounts of symbols have been around for a while now. But I like the fact that Pragmatic Play added those mystery symbols, which can also become crowns. And offer that Big Money Bonus with re-spins, increasing the chance to get even more crowns.
I like it. It’s nothing extremely new or innovating, but it’s a decent fun game that I think players will enjoy.
