Play’n Go released a new slot game with a Frankenstein theme with a play on It’s Alive, namely Lab of Madness – It’s a Wild.
The reels are set within the laboratory of Frankenstein (yes, the monster isn’t called that, the scientist is). And it’s all a lot of black and white, just like the original Frankenstein movie, which works well, but can come over a big dull or boring.
The game uses 5 reels that are 4 symbols high and comes with 20 paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols you will also find medium to high paying themed items like a heart, saw and als a scientist, which on this game seems to be a female. Then there are wild symbols, which is the monster and can appear on all reels. Orbs, which come in three different colors, also appear on all reels. And lastly there is a special Power-up symbol, also available on each reel.
Lab of Madness comes with a maximum payout of 8.000 times bet and is a medium to high volatile slot game.
Features
Free Spins Feature
The game comes with three differently colored orbs that are also present above the reels. Each orb can land on the reels once and when one or more orbs land, they will charge the orb on top of the reels of the same color. When one or more orbs appear, the orb above the reels may shatter and trigger the free spins feature.
- Red Orb – 10 free spins with multiplier wilds that have a value of x2, x3, x4 or x5. If more than one multiplier wild is part of winning combination, the multipliers are added together.
- Green Orb – 10 free spins with expanding wilds.
- Purple Orb – 10 free spins with walking wilds. Each wild will move one reel to the left and give a free re-spin, until the wild symbol reached the first reel and no other wilds are present on the reels.
More than one orb can trigger at the same time. If 2 different orbs or all three orbs trigger at the same time, the features are combined and all associated features are active during free spins.
Zap Prizes
Left of the reels you will find 4 different jackpot amounts. 20x, 50x, 100x and 5.000x bet. When a Power-up symbol lands, there is a random chance to win one of these amounts.
Verdict
Lab of Madness is one of those games with three different features that can trigger when associated symbols land. There are several of these games online. With different features, but all the same principle.
I rather have games that use scatter or bonus symbols to be honest, for me this type of games are a bit too random. Even though I know that’s just a feeling and not really so.
I do however like the features, especially when you can combine more than one. And I also think the theme is done very well. Because it’s all very black and white, but when free spins start, everything gets color.
