Pragmatic Play released a new online slot game called Jackpot Hunter. Which uses one of those standard explorer themes. Where this time a man and a woman explore through a thick jungle looking for treasure.
The reels are set against a river running through a jungle with lots of green and the scenery changes to night during free spins. It has a bit of a cartoon style feel and look and is pretty colorful.
You will find 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and the game uses 20 lines.
Besides low paying exploring objects like a map and binoculars, you will also find high paying symbols like a crocodile and the two main characters. Besides these symbols you will also find special bonus symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. Scatter symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 and also wild symbols on all reels.
Jackpot Hunter comes with a maximum payout of 5.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.

Bonus Map Feature
Bonus symbols, which are wheels, only appear on reels 1, 3 and 5. Getting all three at the same time will trigger the Bonus Map Feature.
The bonus comes with a trail of 41 steps and a wheel. You will get 5 spins from the wheel, which will happen automatically. A spin can land on between 1 and 8 steps.
Where you stop on the trail will reveal a cash prize of between x2 and 20x bet. Or the word jackpot.
If at the end of the bonus, 3 jackpot words have been collected, the Mini, Major or Grand is randomly awarded, 4 Jackpot words would award the Major or Grand and 5 Jackpot words the Grand.
At least that’s what the paytable said, but somehow it awarded me a Mini and Major when I found 2 words, so I have no idea how it works.
Free Spins Feature
Scatter symbols appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. Get all three at the same time to trigger 12 free spins.
During free spins special Jackpot symbols appear. Landing 3 or more will trigger a wheel that will award one of the three jackpots. 3 will award the Mini, Major or Grand, 4 the Major or Grand and all 5 will award the Grand.
3 scatter symbols during free spins will add 12 more free spins.
Bonus Buy
For 60 times your bet you are able to buy the Free Spins Feature. For 20 times your bet you are able to buy the Bonus Map Feature.
Verdict
Jackpot Hunter is a very generic, bit of a dull game.
The theme is something we have seen so many times before. It seems like each provider has it’s own adventurer slot, sometimes several of them even. And this theme just doesn’t stand out anymore these days.
Then we have the gameplay. Which is fine, it’s nothing special but the game does come with some fun features. But, again, also nothing we haven’t seen before and done better on other games. What’s also a little curious is the fact that you can buy the map bonus for only 20 times bet, which is very low. But that probably also means that this feature doesn’t pay anything big often.
Overall a very average game with a very average theme.
