Back in 2017 Pragmatic Play released a game called Wolf Gold. It’s one of their earlier titles when the company was pretty much still in their startup phase. But it’s also a pretty well known game. Now 7 years later they have used this title for a follow-up or sequel with Wolf Gold Ultimate.
The game uses pretty much the same theme with the recognizable wolf symbol and the full moons. You hardly see any difference between the original and this version, to be honest.
You will find 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and the slot uses 25 lines.
Besides low paying card symbols and high paying animals you will also find stacked wilds on all reels. And lastly full moon symbols, which can also appear stacked on all reels. There are no scatter symbols or other bonus symbols besides the full moons.
Wolf Gold Ultimate comes with a maximum payout of 5.000 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.

Money Re-spin Feature
6 or more Full Moon symbols will start the Money Re-spin feature.
Full Moon symbols come with cash values of between 0,4 and 15 times bet. Or one of the 4 jackpots.
You will start with 3 re-spins where the triggering full moon symbols stay on the reels. During re-spins only blank spots and full moons appear. Each time one or more full moon lands, the re-spins are reset back to 3.
There are also a total of 2 extra reel sets and a final row of symbols which can be unlocked by collecting enough symbols.
Collect 9 symbols and open up to the second reel set. Collect a total of 18 symbols to open up the third reel set. And finally, collect 32 symbols to open up the special row of symbols on top of the two extra reel sets.
This special reel set comes with special symbols and blank spots. These special symbols are:
- Collect – Will collect all values from all symbols from the same reel it lands on, from all reel sets
- Plus Cash – Will add a value of between x3 to 15x to all symbols on the same reel it lands on, to all reel sets
- Multiplier – Will apply a multiplier of x2, x3, x4 or x5 to all symbols on the same reel it lands on, to all reel sets
The Money Re-spins Feature ends when you have no more re-spins, or if all spots are filled. After this all values are rewarded.
Bonus Buy
You also have the option to buy the Money Re-spin Feature for 80 times bet, this will award between 6 and 8 Full Moon symbols.
Verdict
Wolf Gold was one of those classic Hold & Re-spin slot games, with an added free spins bonus with a colossal symbol on reels 2, 3 and 4.
For this ultimate version they have removed the free spins feature and only kept the Hold & Re-spin feature. But now with more reel sets.
The rest of the game is pretty much the same as the original.
They added Ultimate to the title, which for me meant, wow this game can pay out huge. But somehow it’s still the pretty basic 5.000 times bet and also it’s a medium volatile game. Ultimate makes me think it’s some kind of extreme volatile slot game with huge win potential. That’s not the case.
I do like the fact that they have added more reel sets to the bonus and also that special row of symbols. But overall it still feels like a pretty basic game, something we’ve seen before and isn’t that Ultimate at all.
