Out of the Woods – Overview
Pragmatic Play has released a new online slot game called Out of the Woods.
A game which seems to revolve around a group of friends that stumbled into a forest that seems to be the place where a cult is worshiping some owl statue. And to be honest, it makes for a very fun and great looking theme. Something unique for a change.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 25 lines.
There are low paying card symbols and high paying characters, which can all appear stacked on all reels. Then there are normal wilds, which can also appear on all reels, but not stacked. And scatter symbols. There is also a special wild, which I will discuss below.
Out of the Woods comes with a very nice maximum payout of 10.000 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.
Features
Multiplier Wild
The Multiplier Wild is a wild symbol that can only land fully stacked on a reel.
When it lands each separate wild will have a multiplier of x1, x2, x3 and x4, starting from bottom to top. So the top symbol always has the highest multiplier.
Each time any wild from the stack is used in a winning combination, you will get a free re-spin. The Multiplier Wild moves one or more spots down on the reel, increasing each multiplier by x1 for each move it makes.
If a wild with a golden frame reaches the bottom of the reel and would move down on the next re-spin, the total stack move down between 2 and 10 spots.
Free Spins Feature
3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols will award 10, 15 and 20 free spins respectively.
The Multiplier Wild appearing during free spins won’t reset between free spins. On the right of the reels you will see the top value of the multiplier stack.
3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols during free spins will add the same amount of free spins as normal.
Bonus Buy
For 100x bet you can buy the free spins feature. And for 500x the bet you can buy Super Free Spins, which will start the Multiplier Stack on a minimum of x10.
Verdict
I really like the way Out of the Woods looks. It’s a theme we haven’t seen before and also something different from Pragmatic Play. Which always uses a lot of Egyptian, candy and of course Big Bass themed slots. This one is a very nice surprise.
The only real feature is that multiplier wild. But it’s available in both the base game and free spins. And especially during free spins it can become very interesting when it goes up and up and doesn’t reset.
Overall Out of the Woods is a great new slot game both theme wise and gameplay. I highly recommend giving this one a try.
