If you are a little familiar with board games, you might know a very popular game called Pandemic. Revolving around a worldwide pandemic that players need to cure. And of course most of us know the real pandemic we had 5 years ago. Well, Pragmatic Play has just released a new online slot game called Pandemic Rising. Which does feel and look a lot like the earlier mentioned board game. But also brings back a lot of memories of the real pandemic we all experienced.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 40 paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols you will also find high paying character symbols. Normal paying symbols seem to be able to appear stacked on all reels. Wild symbols can only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. And scatter symbols only appear on reels 1, 3 and 5.

Wild Multipliers
Wild symbols can only appear on reels 2, 3 and 4. Each wild symbol that appears, either during normal spins or the free spins feature, comes with a random multiplier of between x1 and x10. If more than one wild symbol is part of a winning combination, the multipliers are added together.
Free Spins Feature
Getting all three scatter symbols at the same time will award 8 free spins.
During free spins any wild appearing will become a sticky wild and will stay on the reels until the end of the feature.
You will also see a meter on the left of the reels. This is a general multiplier which starts at x1. During free spins, special virus symbols can now appear and will be collected into this meter. Each time you collect 3 of them, you will reach the next multiplier level and will also receive 1 extra free spin.

For 100 times bet you are able to buy the Free Spins Feature. For 500 times bet you are able to buy the Super Free Spins Feature, which will guarantee 2 wild symbols to land on the first free spin.
Verdict
Pandemic Rising might not trigger a lot of happy feelings with most players. Since the real pandemic isn’t that long ago.
But the game is pretty decent. I like the theme a lot, always liked these pandemic-type themes. But the features are also not bad at all. During these base game you only have those multiplier wilds. But during free spins, you have a general multiplier and those wilds together. Which can award some huge wins. Especially if you manage to collect enough wilds and a big multiplier.
Overall I think it’s a good game, that also, somehow fits the Halloween season a bit.
