NetEnt released a new online slot game called Pandora’s Treasure. Not to be confused with a very old release from the same provider called Pandora’s Box, which is no longer available.
Of course the myth about Pandora’s Box is the main theme for this game. As it says, Pandora was given a box which she was not to open. But curiosity won and when she did open the box everything bad and evil was unleashed upon the world. It’s an ancient Greek myth, which always spoke to me.
So of course we see the reels set between 2 Greek columns. And a lot of Greek themed symbols.
The game uses 6 reels that are each 4 symbols high and uses 4096 ways instead of paylines. Meaning that symbols pay from left to right, starting on the first reel, no matter where on the reels.
Besides standard, low paying, card symbols, there are also Greek themed medium to high paying symbols. Then we have scatter symbols that appear on all reels and lastly there is the special Pandora’s Box symbol, which can also appear on each reel. The game doesn’t feature any wild symbols.
Pandora’s Treasure comes with a big maximum payout of 10.368 times bet and is a medium volatile slot game.

Pandora’s Box and avalanches
When Pandora’s Box appears it will collect all symbols that are part of a winning combination. And now avalanches become active, So winning symbols are added to the box and new symbols land on top, creating the option for more winning combinations.
Each collected symbols will add x1 to the box. After all winning avalanches are done, you are awarded the total multiplier on the box times your bet.
Free Spins Feature
3 scatter symbols will award 10 free spins. Each extra scatter symbol will 2 more free spins to this.
During free spins you are awarded with a Pandora’s Box symbol that will stay on the reels until the end of the free spins feature and will keep collecting winning symbols, which are now awarded at the of the free spins.
3 scatter symbols during free spins will add 5 more free spins and 2 more for each scatter symbol above those 3.
The Pandora’s Box symbol will be cloned with the current multiplier onto a random spot and will now also stay until the end of the free spins.
The game can retrigger 2 times. So a total of three Pandora’s Box symbols can be on the reels.
Pandora’s Box symbol cannot land as normal, only the locked boxes can appear.
Verdict
I really like this game! I think it looks amazing, but most NetEnt slots do, but I also think it comes with a cool feature.
Especially during those free spins where it’s possible to get 2 or even 3 of those Pandora’s Box symbols. Which can add up pretty fast.
Of course it needs to with a maximum win of over 10.000 times bet. Which seems to be impossible to reach, to be honest. Because it would sort of mean, you need all three boxes and 3000 winning symbols. Sort of. But I guess it’s possible. And the high maximum payout also means that the game can award some great wins.
