Back in 2019 Push Gaming released a game called Razor Shark, which was an instant hit and is still popular today. After that, in 2023, they released their sequel, Razor Returns. Another hit. And now their third installment is out called Razor Ways.
They have kept everything that was great about the earlier titles, but added ways, instead of paylines and it seems, even more features and bonuses. The same shark theme is used, but the robot shark theme from the second release. The reels are set in a deep dark sea.
The game starts with 6 reels which are each 4 symbols high, which will give 729 ways. But these reels can increase giving up to 46656 ways.
Besides low paying plant symbols and diving symbols, there are also high paying shark symbols. You will also find bonus symbols on all reels, wild symbols, expanding wild symbols and lastly mystery symbols.

Expanding Reels
Razor Ways uses cascading symbols. Which means that winning symbols are removed from the reels and new symbols are added on top. Each time a winning combination appears and the symbols are removed, the reels grow by 1 symbol, up to a maximum of 3. Giving the total 6 symbols per reel and 46.556 ways. On a new spin, they reset.
Mystery Symbols
Mystery symbols can appear on all reels during the base game and during free spins. These symbols will reveal into a normal paying symbol, a wild symbol, an expanding wild symbol, a Converter into wild symbol or a Golden Shark symbol.
Converter into Wild symbol
This symbol can appear due to a mystery symbol. When it appears, it will pick one random normal paying symbol and change all instances of those symbols, on active rows, into wilds. The Converter into Wild symbol will also become wild. A maximum of two of these symbols can appear at the same time.
Razor Reveal Feature
When Mystery symbols appear on at least 3 consecutive reels during the base game or during free spins, they will turn into Golden Shark symbols. Mystery symbols can also turn into Golden Shark symbols at random. All these Gold Shark symbols will spin and reveal one of the following:
- Instant Prize – A cash reward of between x1 and x5000 times bet
- Multiplier – Comes with a multiplier of between x2 and x10 and all Instant Prize and Collector Symbols will be multiplied. After this the multiplier will respin to land on another symbol
- Collector – Collects all Instant Prize values and then all Instant Prize symbols are removed and will respin. The Collector Symbol will stay on the reels
- Converter – Will randomly pick a normal paying symbol and will change all instances of that symbol into a Golden Shark symbol
- Scatter (only during the base game)
Free Spins Feature
3 or more bonus symbols will award the free spins feature. Depending how many scatters trigger the bonus, determines the number of free spins, the size of the reels and starting multiplier.
- 3 will award 6 free spins with reels being 3 symbol high and a x1 multiplier
- 4 will award 8 free spins with reels being 4 symbols high and a x3 multiplier
- 5 will award 10 free spins with reels being 5 symbols high and a x5 multiplier
- 6 will award 10 free spins with reels being 6 symbols high and a x10 multiplier
During free spins Mystery Symbols can also appear glowing, more blue. They work the same as normal mystery symbols, but they are collected into a meter on the right. Each time you have collected 5, you will be awarded with extra spins, more symbols per reel and a higher multiplier.
If you are on the final level, which means you have opened up all reels and are on the x10 multiplier, you have reached the maximum.

Verdict
That’s a lot of features, isn’t it? And it might come over as too much, but I guarantee you, it’s not.
All features and bonuses work very well together and are all highly recognizable from the earlier titles.
The thing that is new is the fact that we now have ways and increasing reels and that free spins have a multi level bonus with an increasing multipliers and ways. Which feels different enough from the other games.
I really like Razor Shark and Razor Returns. And I also really like this new Razor Ways slot. I think it’s done excellent and it keeps the series going.
