It’s time for a new Thunderkick slot release and this time they went for a bowling theme with their latest slot, Split Happens. Of course a play on the saying shit happens.

The fact that they went with a bowling theme is something I appreciate, it’s something we don’t see very often.

The bowling lane is vaguely seen in the background of the reels and for symbols you can expect pins and bowling balls among other themed symbols.

The game uses 5 reels that are 3 symbols high and comes with 10 paylines. But the game pays from left to right and right to left. Starting on one of the other reels. So basically you have 20 lines except when you get a 5-of-a-kind.

You will find low paying card symbols and two high paying symbols, food and a bowling player. Then there are also scatter symbols on all reels and stacked wilds on reels 2, 3 and 4.

Split Happens comes with a maximum payout of 3.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.

Features

Walking Stacked Wilds

When a fully stacked wild symbols land on reels 2, 3 and/or 4, it will trigger the Walking Stacked Wilds Feature. This will award a free re-spin.

The stacked wild will move one reel to to the left or right, depending on where the wild landed. If a fully stacked wild lands on reel 3, the Split Happens Feature is triggered. The wild will split into two and will move to reels 2 and 4, and 1 and 5 after the re-spin.

Re-spins keep going until the wild or wilds move of the reels. More stacked wilds can land during re-spins.

Free Spins Feature

Collect 3 scatter symbols in the meter below, to trigger the free spins feature.

You are awarded with 5 free spins and a starting multiplier of x1. Each time a stacked wild symbol lands the Walking Stacked Wilds feature is triggered and the multiplier goes up by x1 after each re-spin. After this spins are reset back to 5. The multiplier doesn’t reset between spins and can only go up.

Multipliers only apply to wins that feature a stacked wild symbol.

Verdict

To be honest, I really enjoyed this game. I’m not a bowling fan, but I like the theme, especially since we see a lot of the same themes these days. Bowling is something rare.

I also like the features with the stacked wilds, which seem to appear quite often. Especially interesting during free spins where the increasing multiplier is also active.

The only thing I wished was that the maximum win would be higher. Of course 3.000 times your bet is nothing to complain about, but it seems to me, they could have made it a bit higher to also please the die hard slot players.
