Ternion Overview
Apparently this new Play’n Go slot was released a couple of days ago and I completely missed it.
But their latest slot game is called Ternion. And it seems that the word Ternion means a group or set of three. And this fits perfectly with this superhero themed slot game with 3 different super heroes.
The game seems to be set in some kind of futuristic city being attacked by some kind of flying monster. It all looks very cool.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 20 lines.
Besides standard card symbols you will also find the three superheroes and a purple crystal symbol. The game also features bonus or scatter symbols on all reels. Wild symbols can only appeard because of special bonuses.

Ternion Features
Superhero modifiers
Each superhero comes with its own modifier. During any base spin one of the three heroes can randomly be activated and will award its modifier.
- Ice Shards – between 3 and 10 random wilds are added to the reels (during free spins it will add between 3 and 16 random wilds)
- Blade Flurry – all low paying symbols will be replaced by super heroes (during free spins the crystal symbols will also be replaced)
- Pillars of Flame – will turn between 1 and 3 reels wild (during free spins between 1 and 4 reels will become wild)
Doomsday Free Spins
3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols will award 8, 10 and 14 free spins respectively.
During free spins all purple crystal symbols will be collected into a meter on the left of the reels. Each time you fill the meter with 5 crystals a random superhero will be triggered.
Filling it 1 and 2 times will trigger 1 superhero. Filling it 3 and 4 times will trigger 2 superheroes at the same time, filling it 5 times will trigger all three superheroes at the same time.
As I mentioned above, modifiers are more powerful during free spins.
3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols during free spins will add 4, 5 and 7 extra free spins respectively. Up to maximum of 38 free spins in total.
Call For Heroes feature
At random this can trigger during a base spin. This will add a scatter symbol on reel 1 and 2 after which all reels stop spinning. Increasing the possibility to trigger free spins.
Verdict
Ternion is a pretty cool looking game with enough random features to keep even the base game interesting.
I think the theme works well with all the features and it also makes for a very sleek looking game.
All random features have their own advantages and can award some great wins. But especially during free spins, when you are able to fill the meter at least 3 times, they really get interesting. Getting 2 or even all 3 heroes active at the same time will almost guarantee huge wins.
But of course it can also be frustrating when you aren’t able to reach those steps on the meter.
Overall Ternion is a good, solid slot game that fits perfectly into Play’n Go’s catalogue of slots.
