Fire Stampede Ultimate – Overview
Wild Streak Gaming and Pragmatic Play have released a new online slot game that uses their Connect & Collect feature. Which they also uses on earlier games, including Firebird Spirit.
For this game they went with the classic slot trope, Buffalo’s. A theme that is used a lot on slot games, but does always seem to work and attract players.
The game uses 5 reels that are 5, 5, 3, 5 and 5 symbols high and comes with 1875 ways. There is also a 6th reel, but this is a special bonus reel and only counts during the Connect & Collect bonus.
You will find low paying card symbols and medium to high paying golden nuggets and animals. There are also wilds symbols, but no scatters. There are however Connect & Collect symbols on all reels. Symbols can appear stacked on all reels.
Fire Stampede Ultimate comes with a very nice maximum payout of 12.500 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Connect & Collect
Connect & Collect symbols need to be connected from left to right, starting on reel 1. They need to be connected horizontally and/or vertically. If you are able to make a path to the special bonus symbols on reel 3, or the symbols on reel 6, you will be awarded with the bonuses.
These bonuses can be:
- Respins – Only appear on reel 3. When reached you will receive 3 re-spins where all triggering Connect & Collect symbols are locked. Reels 1 though 5 will re-spin and each new Connect & Collect symbol appearing is also locked and resets the re-spins. After you run out of re-spins all connected wins are paid.
- Cash Respins – Only appear on reel 3. When reached you will receive 3 re-spins where all triggering Connect & Collect symbols will get a random cash value and are locked. Reels 1 through 5 will re-spin and each new Connect & Collect symbol that appears will lock and also get a random value and resets the spins. After you run out of respins, all values are awarded, connected or not.
- Money Value – instant reward.
- Add Wilds – Between 2 and 5 random wilds are added to the reels.
- Free Spins – Awards the number of displayed free spins (up to 25 per symbol possible).
- Mystery Prize – Only appears on reel 5 and will award a random value or one of the jackpot amounts, or jackpots times two.
- Stampede – Add’s the highest paying buffalo symbol to random spots.
- Minor – Can only appear on reel 3 and will award the Minor jackpot.
*During re-spins special buffalo coins can appear that multiply values on the reels and the Respins and Cash Respins can also trigger at random when their symbol appears. The features can also be combined.
Free Spins Feature
If you manage to reach one or more of the free spins symbols you are awarded the feature.
During free spins it appears that Connect & Collect symbols appear more often, even if that’s not noted on the paytable.
You can win more free spins during this feature, as normal.
Bonus Buy
For 100 times bet you are able to buy the free spins feature. This will connect to one or more free spins symbols an award that number of free spins.
Verdict
They have kept a lot of what makes these Connect & Collect slots fun the same, but added a couple of more interesting features. Like the Respins and the jackpots.
Which makes for a slot game that has enough features in both the base game and during free spins, to keep you going.
I know it all seems a lot from the review. But once you play the game for a short while, it become pretty clear how it all works.
Overall I think it’s a nice new slot game and solid addition to this series. The theme could have been something else maybe, but doesn’t matter to me.
