Le Fisherman – Overview
Last time we saw Smokey, the popular raccoon from Hacksaw Gaming, he was celebrating Christmas in Le Santa. And now he’s back, but on a fishing trip and of course the slot game is called Le Fisherman this time. But no worries, it’s not a “Big Bass” type of slot game.
This time the reels are set over a lake and Smokey sits in a boat. Angry as ever, on the right of the reels.
The game uses 6 reels that are 5 symbols high and comes with a cluster pays mechanism. 5 or more of the same symbols that are horizontally and/or vertically connected, count as winning combination. You will also find tumbles or reactions on this game. Winning clusters are removed and also all matching symbols anywhere else on the reels. The rest of the symbols fall down and new symbols are added from the top. Creating the possibility for several winning combinations in a row, within the same spin.
Besides low paying card symbols and medium to high paying fishing themed symbols, you will also find scatter symbols on all reels. Wild symbols can also appear on all reels.
Le Fisherman comes with a big maximum payout of 15.000 times your bet and is also a low volatile slot game. Which you don’t see very often these days.
Features
Golden Squares
When a winning cluster is removed, the background of where the symbols where will turn into golden squares.
When a rainbow symbol is present on the reels, after all winning clusters are paid, all those golden squares will turn into cash symbols or special symbols.
- Coins will award between 0,2x and 500x bet (these appear as bronze, silver and golden)
- Clovers multiply the values of all Coins adjacent with between x2 and x20
- Buckets collects all revealed coins and other buckets adjacent and takes that value, all other spots will now re-spin and reveal new coins or special symbols
- Golden Buckets collects all revealed coins and other buckets on the reels and takes that value, all other spots will now re-spin and reveal new coins or special symbols
Epic Rainbow
When an Epic Rainbow symbol lands, it will turn all spots on the reels golden and award the same possible symbols and coins as mentioned above.
Free Spins Features
3 or more scatter symbols will trigger a free spins feature. Depending on the number of scatters that triggered the feature, you will play a different free spins feature.
- On Thin Ice – 3 scatter symbols – 10 free spins where all golden squares stay on the reels until they are activated. Above the reels you will find a meter that will collect each scatter symbol that appears. Each time you have collected 5 of them, you will receive 5 extra free spins. And get a special additional bonus where rainbow symbols that land will turn into a Green Clover, Bucket, Gold Clover and after reaching the final step, an Epic Rainbow is guaranteed during each spin and after it activates, it becomes a Gold Clover.
- Slippery When Wet – 4 scatter symbols – 10 free spins with the same features as On This Ice, but all golden squares will remain on the reels during all free spins, even if they are activated in between.
- Smokey Under Water – 5 scatter symbols – 10 free spins with the same features as Slippery When Wet, but the meter is already at the highest level and extra free spins can’t be won.
Bonus Buy
Le Fisherman offers several bonus buy options. For 3x the bet you can activate a 5 times higher chance of triggering the bonus. 50x the bet will guarantee you to land at least 1 rainbow or Epic rainbow. 500x bet will guarantee an Epic Rainbow to land. For 60x the bet you can buy On Thin Ice and for 250x the bet you can buy Slippery When Wet. Smokey Under Water isn’t available as a bonus buy.
Verdict
Le Fisherman is very similar to Le Santa, but with the addition of the meter during free spins. Which is a nice added touch.
As with all these “Le” slots, the theme is a lot of fun and works very well. I really like this series of slot games by Hacksaw Gaming.
Overall it’s another solid new title from Hacksaw Gaming and another great addition to this series of slots.
