Monopoly Money – Overview
The Monopoly IP from Hasbro has always been a hugely popular theme to use on slot games. This classic board game works perfectly for slots. And most providers know that. And a lot of providers, in both land-based slots and online have the license to release Monopoly slots. Including Big Time Gaming.
They already released several games with this theme, including Monopoly Rush Hour. And now it’s time for another one called Monopoly Money.
Of course, as you would expect, the theme is Monopoly. So expect all the familiar tokens, Mr. Monopoly and deeds to appear.
The game uses 6 reels that are between 2 and 7 symbols high during each spin. Giving up to 117.649 ways per spin.
Besides low paying card symbols and medium to high paying Monopoly tokens, you will also find wild symbols on reels reels, except the first reel. Scatter symbols can appear on all reels. And lastly there are Deed, Community Chest and Chance Card symbols, which can also appear on all reels.
Monopoly Money comes with a big maximum payout of 29.700 times bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Hold and Spin
Landing 6 or more special card symbols will trigger the Hold and Spin feature.
During this feature only blank spots and cards can appear.
Before spins start Mr. Monopoly will appear next to reels with a starting value of between 5x and 14x bet. You will then get 3 spins which reset back to three each time a new card lands, or a card is collected. Each time cards land that have the same or lower value than Mr. Monopoly, these cards are collected and the value of Mr. Monopoly will increase by their value.
Community Chest cards award a prize between 25x and 2.500x bet at the end of the feature. Chance cards are stored until the Hold and Spin feature is over. These award a prize of between 15x and 25x bet to Mr Monopoly, which can mean that he may collect some remaining cards on the reels, continuing the feature. Chance can also trigger a re-trigger, clearing all symbols, but keeping the value of Mr. Monopoly.
The feature ends when you run out of spins, fill all spots on the reels, or when you trigger the Monopoly Bonus. After the feature ends the total value of Mr. Monopoly is awarded.
Monopoly Bonus
The Monopoly Bonus is awarded when Mr. Monopoly manages to collect deeds of all colors during Hold and Spin. This will award a cash reward of between 1.000x and 2.500x bet on top of the winnings from Hold and Spin.
Free Spins Feature
3 scatter symbols will award 12 free spins and 2 extra free spins for each extra scatter.
Mr. Monopoly starts with a value of up to 15x bet. During free spins he will collect the value of any Deed with a lower or equal value and increase its own value.
A general multiplier is also active for all normal wins, which starts on x1. And is increased by x1 for each Deed that is collected.
The Hold and Spin feature can also be triggered during free spins, but now only needs 5 Deeds, instead of 6.
The total Mr. Monopoly value is awarded at the end of free spins.
3 scatter symbols during the feature will add 4 more free spins and 2 more for any extra scatter.
Bonus Buy
For 60x bet you can buy the Hod and Spin Feature. And for 90x bet you are able to buy the Free Spins Feature.
Verdict
Apparently Monopoly Money is a very close copy of another Big Time Gaming slot called Monster Quest, which I somehow didn’t review. But they have made some small changes it seems.
It’s a pretty fun slot game with some cool features. I like that you have a Hold and Spin bonus and a Free Spins feature. They both use the same main mechanism, which is that Mr. Monopoly value. But it works very well. Although it can also be a bit annoying seeing all those huge values and Mr. Monopoly is nowhere there yet.
Theme-wise, it’s a Monopoly slot. So you get exactly what you expect.
So overall a solid new Big Time Gaming and Monopoly slot game. And I would suggest giving it a try.
