Chests of Cai Shen Infinity – Overview
Around the same time last year Pragmatic Play released a sequel to its slot game Chests of Cai Shen, revolving around the Chinese God of Wealth. Now we get a third game in the series, Chests of Cai Shen Infinity.
The game looks very familiar, which is not surprising considering it follows the same formula as its predecessors. A lot of the main mechanics are also the same, with the coin collection and Chest Re-spin features returning. However, this time we get four different chest modifiers, including a new green chest, and a special coin that can activate multiple modifiers at once.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and uses 25 paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols you will also find medium to high paying animals and Cai Shen as the highest paying symbol. Then there are wild symbols on all reels, except the first reel. And lastly, we have several different colored coins that are collected in the chests above the reels.
Chests of Cai Shen Infinity comes with a maximum payout of 15.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Chest Re-spin Feature
When coins are collected, they can randomly activate the Chest Re-spins Feature. It can trigger with one, two, three or even all four modifiers active, depending on which chests are activated.
During these re-spins only blank spots or golden money symbols appear. You start with 3 or 4 re-spins, depending on whether the Longevity modifier is active. The number of re-spins resets whenever one or more money symbols appear.
The feature ends when all spots are filled or when you run out of re-spins. The money symbols can have values of up to 150 times your bet, and there are also 4 different jackpot amounts of 10x, 20x, 150x or 5.000x bet available during this feature.
Green – Prosperity: These coins are collected in the green Prosperity chest. When the feature is activated, it can upgrade the values of up to three money symbols during the Chest Re-spin Feature.
Blue – Fulfillment: These coins are collected in the blue Fulfillment chest. When collected, they can randomly activate the Chest Re-spin Feature with four multiplier zones. Each zone gets its own multiplier of up to x100, and if a zone is filled with coins, the values in that section are multiplied accordingly.
Red – Double: These coins are collected in the red Double chest. When collected, they can randomly activate the Chest Re-spin Feature where you now play on two reel sets instead of one.
Purple – Longevity: These coins are collected in the purple Longevity chest. When collected, they can randomly activate the Chest Re-spin Feature with one extra re-spin, so instead of 3 you get 4 re-spins.
Quad coin: This special coin can activate all four chests at once, giving you the chance to play the Chest Re-spin Feature with multiple modifiers active at the same time.
Buy Bonus
You are also able to buy the bonus for 200 times your bet, which guarantees the Fulfillment modifier with at least one section having the x100 multiplier.
For 750 times your bet, you can buy the Quad bonus, which activates all four modifiers and guarantees at least one x100 multiplier zone on each grid.
Verdict
This third game in the series brings together the familiar mechanics from the previous games, while adding a fourth chest and a special coin that can activate multiple modifiers at once.
The green Prosperity chest is a nice addition, as it can upgrade the values of money symbols during the bonus. And with the blue Fulfillment chest, you still have the potential to land those big multipliers. The Double and Longevity modifiers return as well, so there is plenty going on when the Chest Re-spin Feature finally triggers.
For me, this is a bit of a mixed bag. The extra chest and Quad coin make the bonus more interesting, but I would have liked to see something more different from the previous games. Still, the combination of all four modifiers could make for some exciting bonus rounds.
Let me know what you think. Is Chests of Cai Shen Infinity a worthy third instalment? Do you enjoy the new additions, or would you have preferred something completely different? Leave a comment below.
