Play’n Go has released a new online slot game that uses Pandora’s Box as the theme called Hope Unleashed Fortune Rises.
It’s not the first time Play’n Go used this theme, more than 2 years go they released a game called Pandora’s Box of Evil. With a similar theme.
This one uses 5 reels which are each 4 symbols high and comes with 20 paylines.
You will find normal low paying card symbols and different medium to high paying Greek themed symbols. Then there are mystery symbols on all reels, wilds symbols and scatter symbols. There are also wild and scatter symbols on all reels. Special expanding wilds can also appear, more on those below.
Hope Unleashed Fortune Rises comes with a very low maximum payout of 1.234 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.
Features
Mystery symbols
When mystery symbols appear they will all turn into one and the same normal paying symbols, while some might also change into a wild or even a Magic Circle.
Magic Circle
Magic Circles can only appear because of a mystery symbol. And when it does, it will change into an expanded wild symbol that covers the entire reel and will trigger a re-spin.
The expanded wild is held and all other reels re-spin and are guaranteed to land new mystery symbols.
If a new Magic Circle appears, the current wild will become a normal wild at the bottom of the reels with a x2 multiplier. Each time a new Magic Circle appears, the earlier one will become a normal wild and get a higher multiplier, up to x5.
A total of 30 re-spins can trigger.
Pandora’s Box
Normal paying symbols can come with soul symbols overlain. Each of these are collected to the left of the reels and at random can trigger a bonus where one of the 4 set jackpot amounts is won.
Free Spins Feature
3, 4 and 5 scatter symbols will award 8, 12 and 15 free spins respectively.
Mystery symbols that land during free spins may now also reveal normal symbols that come with Spirit Orbs. Spirit Orbs come with cash values of between 1 and 5 times bet. These are paid if at least one Soul is present on the reels, and each Soul will multiplier the card reward by x1.
Magic circles also still appear.
3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols during free spins will add 3, 5 and 8 extra free spins respectively. Up to a maximum of 40.
Verdict
It’s a shame that this game comes with a such nice looking theme and a bunch of pretty fun features. Because the maximum payout is so low, the game never takes off.
They really used the Pandora’s Box of Evil slot as their blueprint. And it could have been a great title, especially with the theme.
But, I’m afraid this one just doesn’t work. And it’s all because of the low winnings.
I am sure there is a group of players that doesn’t mind this, maybe bonus players. But the majority of players do expect a little more payout these days.
