Dusk Princess – Overview
Hacksaw Gaming has released several slots within their “princess” series. Like for instance Rainbow Princess and Sun Princess. And now it’s time for another addition with Dusk Princess.
As with the other games, it a very nice looking, anime style slot game. This one revolving around dusk, or nightfall. So a little more subdued colors and feel than the other ones I mentioned.
The game uses 6 reels that are 5 symbols high and comes with a cluster pays mechanism. 5 or more of the same symbols that are horizontally and/or vertically connected, count as winning combination. You will also find tumbles or reactions on this game. Winning clusters are removed and also all matching symbols anywhere else on the reels. The rest of the symbols fall down and new symbols are added from the top. Creating the possibility for several winning combinations in a row, within the same spin.
Besides low paying gem symbols and medium to high paying themed items, you will also find scatter symbols on all reels. Wild symbols appear because of a special feature explained below.
Dusk Princess comes with a nice maximum payout of 10.000 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.
Features
Blessing Bar
Above the reels you will find the Blessing Bar. Each time a winning cluster is removed, the symbols will fill the bar. To fill it you need 8 symbols and each new fill after that needs 2 more free spins.
When you fill the bar, 3 random wilds are added to the reels. Each time you are able to fill it again after the first time, you will get more wilds and wilds will also get a multiplier. Multipliers increase by x1 up to x500.
After all wins are done, the bar resets back during base spins.
Free Spins Features
3 or more scatter symbols will trigger a free spins feature. Depending on the number of scatters that triggered the feature, you will play a different free spins feature.
- The Dusk Court – 3 scatter symbols – 10 free spins that keeps the base game features, but a higher chance of getting more wilds and higher multipliers. Also the Blessing Bar doesn’t reset between free spins. You can’t win extra free spins, scatters don’t appear.
- The Lunar Court – 4 scatter symbols – 10 free spins with the same features as The Dusk Court but with a higher number of starting wilds and multiplier. You can’t win extra free spins, scatters don’t appear.
- The Night Court – 5 scatter symbols – 10 free spins that keeps the base game features, but the Blessing Bar is always full and will be awarded after each free spin. Number of wilds and multiplier will increase after each spin. You can’t win extra free spins, scatters don’t appear.
Bonus Buy
Dusk Princess offers several bonus buy options. For 3x the bet you can activate a 5 times higher chance of triggering the bonus. 65x the bet will buy you The Dusk Court and 250x the bet will buy you The Lunar Court. The Night Court isn’t available as a bonus buy.
Verdict
Hacksaw Gaming always comes with slot games with a lot of mechanisms and features. Which are always very well done. Dusk Princess seems more simple.
It only uses that Blessing Bar. During both base spins and during all free spins bonuses. Just fill the bar and get random wilds with possible multipliers. And that’s it.
But it doesn’t feel boring. It works very well and makes for another great addition to their “Princess” slots. And of course the amazing theme helps a lot.
