Pandora’s Box of Evil Overview
Like almost every week it’s time for a new slot release by Play’n Go. And this time it’s Pandora’s Box of Evil.
The story of Pandora is one of the oldest in the world. It’s a Greek myth about a woman that received a box that shouldn’t be opened, but she did. And that box released everything bad onto the world. A pretty dark theme, but also perfect for a theme.
This new game uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 20 lines.
You will find standard card symbols and different mythological beings and of course also pandora herself. All these symbols can appear stacked on all reels. There are also mystery symbols which can appear on all reels and bonus symbols. Bonus symbols don’t appear stacked.
Pandora’s Box of Evil comes with a maximum payout of 6.000 times bet.
Pandora’s Box of Evil Features
Mystery Symbols
Mystery symbols can appear on all reels. And they will change into one and the same standard paying symbol. But there is also a change that one or more of them change into a special wild symbol, a bonus symbol or a Spirit of Hope symbol.
When changing into a wild symbol, the wild symbol can also get a random multiplier of x2, x3, x4 or x5.
Spirit of Hope
When a Spirit of Hope symbol appears because of a mystery symbol you will trigger a free re-spin. During the re-spin all mystery symbols, bonus symbols and/or mystery wild symbols are locked in place. All locked mystery symbols will close and open again, revealing new symbols after the reels stop spinning.
Free Spins Feature
3 or more bonus symbols will award 8 free spins.
During free spins mystery symbols seem to appear more often. And when it reveals one or more wild symbols, all wild symbols will become sticky and will stay on the reels until the end of the bonus.
1, 2 or 3 bonus symbols during free spins will add 2, 5 and 8 free spins respectively.
Verdict
Play’n Go managed to create a great looking game with Pandora’s Box of Evil. It all looks amazing and the theme is great. And also seems to fit the features.
And the features are fun. The mystery symbols, the option for a respin and also free spins with sticky wilds.
But somehow it also feels a bit basic, or somehow nothing new. It’s nice, but for me it never got really exciting. And I am not sure why? Maybe because the maximum payout isn’t that high, or maybe because all features have been done before? I really can’t say.
That doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the game, I did. But it’s not one of those games that keeps me on the edge of my seat.
