Luchamigos Overview
Play’n Go has released a new online slot game called Luchamigos.
This new slot uses luchadore for its theme. Which, if you didn’t know, are wrestlers, mainly from Mexico. They are always dressed in colorful masks and outfits.
And this time there are three luchadores with each their own special wild symbol.
Luchamigos uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and uses 1024 ways instead of paylines.
Besides standard suits symbols and different types of clothing, you will also find three different luchadores, a red, green and blue one, which each count as a wild symbol. But can also trigger some fun features, which are explained below.
There are also scatters symbols in the form of chilli peppers, these only appear on reels 1, 3 and 5.
Luchamigos comes with a nice big maximum payout of 10.000 times your bet and is a medium to high volatile slot game.

Hot Amigos
You will find three different luchadors on this game. A red, Gran Chico, green, Roco Elastico and blue, Muchos Salvajes. These all three count as a wild symbol.
But when a scatter symbol, the chilli, appears together with one of the luchadores, a special feature is triggered.
- Gran Chico – Creates a wild symbol of 2×2 symbols
- Roco Elastico – Will fill an entire reel with wild symbols
- Muchos Salvajes – Adds 4 random wild symbols
Power Chile Spins
Getting three chilli symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 at the same time will trigger 7 free spins.
During free spins each Hot Amigo landing will always awards its feature, even without a chilli.
Also each Hot Amigo landing will increase the meter on top of the reels. Reaching +2 will add 2 more free spins. Reaching a fire symbol will trigger a Hot Spin. This is a free spin with a guaranteed Hot Amigo feature, picked at random.
If you are able to max out the meter, which will mean you have reached the maximum of 15 free spins, you will be awarded with a Ultimate Hot Spin after all normal spins are played. This Ultimate Hot Spin will guarantee one of the three Hot Amigos, but with an increased bonus, A 2×3 wild for Gran Chico, 2 wild reels for Roco Elastico and 6 random wilds for Muchos Salvajes.
Verdict
The luchador theme has been done before and always seems to work great for slot games. One of my favorite games with this theme is Lucha Maniacs by Yggdrasil. But also Wild Luchador from Quickspin is a very cool game. So I’m not surprised Play’n Go also used this theme.
And I have to say I really like Luchamigos. The game is colorful and fun. And the Hot Amigos with special wilds seem to appear pretty often.
I especially like the free spins feature. The meter with the extra free spins, the special Hot Spin and finally a Ultimate Hot Spin, makes for a very exciting bonus that can be highly rewarding.
Luchamigos is really a great game and fits perfectly with other games within the same theme.
