Monopoly Rush Hour – Overview
We’ve recently saw NetEnt release a Monopoly themed slot game called Monopoly Money Line. But it appears that Big Time Gaming also received another license because they have just released Monopoly Rush Hour.
As with any Monopoly themed game, all symbols and the total theme are very recognizable. But on this game you will also find the classic Monopoly board around the reels and this actually also comes into play.
The game uses 4 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 256 ways instead of lines. Meaning symbols pay left to right, starting on the first reel, no matter where on the reels.
Besides low paying card symbols and medium to high paying Monopoly tokens, you will also find wild symbols on all reels. There are no scatters on this game.
Monopoly Rush Hour comes with a big maximum payout of 28.600 times bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Moving across the board
Each corner will have a token on them. And during each spin, a random number of houses and/or hotels are placed on random properties.
Whenever a token symbol lands on the reels, it might roll two dice. And that corresponding token will then move that number of steps across the board.
For each three steps a token takes, their multiplier will go up by x1 but it can also randomly increase up to 500x.
When a token lands on a property with houses or a hotel, it will award a reward of between 0,1 and 5 times bet, which is then multiplied by the multiplier of that token.
Houses, Hotels, Tokens and Multipliers reset at the beginning of a new spin.
Chance and Community Chest
When a token lands on Chance or Community Chest a card is drawn. This can award moving to a random position on the board, move 3 steps forward or back, a bonus prize or free spins.
Free Spins Feature
Free spins can be triggered by landing on Chance or Community Chest. It will award 12 free spins and 6 extra free spins for any extra trigger.
Houses, Hotels and also where tokens are, won’t reset between free spins. Tokens will also keep their multipliers, so they can only go up.
If you now land on Water Works or Electric Company, you are awarded your bet, times the token multiplier. Train station will add 1, 3, 7 or 15 extra free spins for 1, 2, 3 or 4 tokens landing on them at the same time.
Now Chance and Community Chests will award advance between 2 and 12 spaces, increase the multiplier by 2 and 12 steps or add between 2 and 12 Houses to the board.
Bonus Buy
For 8 times your bet you can activate something they call Power Play, which award a dice roll on every spin and also increases the chance to trigger free spins. For 110 times bet you can but free spins instantly.
Verdict
I really like this game. But there is something weird about it. Somehow you only focus on those tokens moving around and a lot less on the slot itself.
Maybe that’s also because the reels itself aren’t that special. They don’t some with anything interesting and 4-of-a-kind of the highest symbols only pay 25x bet.
You really need to make your profit from those tokens moving around and especially during free spins.
But that free spins feature is a lot of fun.
So overall I’m very happy with Monopoly Rush Hour and would recommend giving it a try.
