Pragmatic Play has released a new online slot game with their partner Reel Kingdom. The game is called 8 Golden Dragon Challenge and is centered around a golden dragon and has an Asian theme.
The reels are set inside an Asian temple with sakura trees next to them.
You will find 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and it comes with 10 lines.
For symbols you will find standard card symbols and different colored dragon symbols. There are also scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5. Wild symbols aren’t available on this game.

Mini Slot Machine Bonus
3 scatter symbols will award the Mini Slot Machine Bonus.
You are taken to a new screen where you will find 8 mini slots that are all 3×3 symbols.
During spins there are only Dragon symbols available, that are 3 symbols high. Each mini slot will spin and if you get at least a part of a dragon symbols on each reel, you are awarded a win.
When a mini slot awards a prize it will stay active, if you don’t get a win on a mini slot, the slot will be closed off.
Spins keep continuing until all slots are locked.
Red Envelope Bonus
If you get a winning combination on a mini slot with a full reel of dragons, you are awarded a Red Envelope. The first Red Envelope will keep the multiplier on x1, each extra Red Envelope will add x1 to the multiplier. But if you get 2 full dragons this is x3 and for 3 full dragons, this is x8.
After all mini slots are done, they all turn into Red Envelopes and will all award a cash prize of 2x, 3x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x or 10x bet. And are then multiplied by the accumulated multiplier.
Bonus Buy and Ante Bet

Verdict
I have to be honest. The base game is really boring. It doesn’t offer anything, it just basic symbols with not even a wild symbol. And although the surroundings of the reels look pretty good, the reels themself also look boring.
The bonus game is ok, but also becomes boring pretty fast. And getting a higher multiplier for that Red Envelope bonus seems to be hard to get. At least after I played the game a while and bought the bonus at least 25 times. Not once did I get a higher multiplier than x1.
So, for me, I’m skipping this game. It’s not for me. But maybe some players do enjoy the game. It does come with a pretty good maximum payout of 8.800 times bet.
