Gem Elevator Overview
Pragmatic Play just release a new slot called Gem Elevator.
A game that uses one of those gem drilling, or mining themes that are not so uncommon. The game even looks a lot like another title from the same providers called Drill that Gold.
You will find 6 reels that are each 5 symbols high. This game uses cluster pays, instead of paylines. 5 or more of the same symbols that are horizontally and/or vertically connected, count as a winning combination.
The only symbols appearing are small and big gems in different colors, a drill that counts as a scatter can appear on all reels. Wild symbols can also appear, but only when a certain feature is triggered, more on that below.
Gem Elevator comes with a nice big maximum win of 10.000 times bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Tumbles
Winning clusters are removed from the reels and all remaining symbols fall down into the empty spots. New symbols that fall on top, creating the option for another win. This keeps continuing until no new winning combinations appear.
Elevator Nudge Feature
At random, after each normal spin, when all pays and/or tumbles are done, a random number of reels can nudge up to 5 times up or down.
If winning combinations appear because of a nudge, you are paid and the nudging continues. Nudges may also bring wild symbols into the screen. Which are golden blocks.
These wild symbols come with a random multiplier of between x1 and x10. If wilds are not used in a winning combination and are nudged again, the multiplier will be doubled for each nudge.
Free Spins Feature
4, 5 or 6 scatter symbols will award 10, 15 and 20 free spins respectively.
During free spins at least one random reel will nudge after each spin.
4 5 and 6 scatter symbols during free spins will add 5, 8 and 10 extra free spins respectively.
Bonus Buy
For 100 times your bet you are able to buy the free spins feature. This will guarantee a minimum of 4 scatter symbols.
Verdict
Gem Elevator is a good game. It’s nothing special, in my opinion, but it’s good.
The nudges make for a fun mechanism that isn’t used that often. The theme seems a bit basic for me, but does work very well with the features.
Overall just a nice game.
