City of Sound – Overview
We know Play’n Go loves to release slots from famous bands, like for instance Kiss, Def Leppard and Nsync. And now they have released another one, but for the first time, I have never heard of this band. They are called City of Sound, which is also the name of the game. And maybe it’s not my style or it’s just not that popular in my country, but I didn’t know them before.
And I have no idea if this is true, but Play’n Go also didn’t put a lot of effort in this one, because it’s an exact clone of Legion Gold Victory, released earlier this year.
Of course this theme is more British styled, since they are probably a British band. And of course the members are also present.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and comes with 25 lines.
Besides low paying card symbols, you will also find different musical instruments. Wild symbols which are the band members, can appear stacked on all reels. And scatter symbols only appear on reels 1, 3 and 5. Lastly there are golden record symbols, which are also bonus symbols and can appear stacked on all reels.
City of Sound comes with a maximum payout of 4.000 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.
Features
Gold Re-spins
Gold Records will have values of between 1x and 1.000x. When 6 or more of these golden records land you will trigger 3 re-spins.
All golden records are held and the reels re-spin. Only Gold Records can land and also a Chest.
When a chest lands, all values on the golden records are instantly awarded. Only golden records landing will also be locked in place and will also award an extra re-spin.
The feature ends when you have no more re-spins or when you have filled the entire screen. Filling the screen will also reward an extra 1.000x your bet.
Gold Record Stack
If golden records land, but not enough to trigger the Gold Re-spin feature, there is a chance that you are awarded with an instant cash reward of up to 100x bet.
Mega Free Spins
3 scatter symbols will award 5 Mega Free Spins.
During each free spin a colossal symbol of 3×3 symbols big will move across the reels and land on a random symbol. After this the other 2 reels stop spinning.
The colossal symbol can also land on a scatter, which will award 5 more free spins, up to a maximum of 45.
If a golden records appears in the colossal symbol, they become 9 separate golden records and you will trigger the Gold Re-spins feature.
Verdict
If you have read my reviews on the Legion Gold series, you know I think these are very basic and a bit boring games.
So that’s also my opinion on City of Sound. Just with another theme. And a theme I know nothing about, so that won’t attract me either.
It’s a shame, because most of these band-themed slots are very cool and come with interesting features, this one doesn’t.
