Gates of Troy – Overview
Almost everybody knows the story of Troy. An army that hid inside a huge wooden horse to get into the city walls of the enemy. It’s one of those classic stories from ancient Greece.
That theme has been used for slot games before and now Play’n Go is also using it in their new slot game Gates of Troy.
Gates of Troy uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 30 lines.
You will find standard card symbols, several Greek symbols, Helen of Troy and also a warrior wild and of course the famous wooden horse. Which counts as the scatter symbol on this game.
Gates of Troy comes with a maximum payout of 3.000 times your bet.
Gates of Troy Features
Wild symbols can appear on all reels. This can be a normal wild symbol or a multiplier wild symbol, which will have a x2 multiplier.
During any normal spin this feature might trigger and will add 2 scatter symbols onto the screen. Increasing the chance to trigger the free spins feature.
Free Spins Feature
3 or more scatter symbols will award 10 free spins. During free spins whenever a wild symbol lands on the reels it will leave a golden frame on that spot.
On the 10th spin all those golden frames are changed into normal wild symbols.
You can’t trigger more free spins.
To be honest, Gates of Troy is a pretty basic slot game. Nothing really special even.
The theme looks nice, I give it that. But the game itself is very basic and even a bit boring.
The base game does come with x2 wild symbols and that guaranteed scatter bonus. But if that guaranteed scatters what needed, I don’t know, it doesn’t feel very exiting. And the free spins feature is ok. But also something we’ve seen before on other games and done better on other games. The frames will change into wild symbols and not even x2 wild symbols. Which feels, again, a bit basic.
Overall Gates of Troy is just one of those slot games that is nice to try maybe once or twice, but you won’t visit again after some plays.
