Moleionaire – Overview
Last week Pragmatic Play released a cluster pays slot called Candy Corner and this week they added another slot game with the cluster pays mechanism called Moleionaire.
Of course combining the word mole and millionaire, so a game with a mole and a top hat, trying to get some big wins.
The game uses 7 reels that are each 7 symbols high and comes with cluster pays. Meaning that 5 or more of the same symbols, which are horizontally and/or vertically connected, count as a winning combination.
Moleionaire also comes with cascading symbols. All winning symbols are removed and the rest of the symbols fall down into the empty spots. New symbols are then added on top creating the option for another winning combination. This keeps continuing until no more new winning combinations appear.
The game uses different types of fruits and forest symbols. There are also Free Spins scatter symbols, which can appear on all reels. Wilds only appear due to a special feature, explained below.
Moleionaire comes with a maximum payout of 5.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Cluster Reaction Feature
Before each spin or tumble completes, the mole will show 2 random normal pay symbols. If the chosen symbols are on the reels and adjacent to each other at the end of a spin, they will turn into wild symbols. Wild symbols can appear as single ones, or as 2, 3, 4 or even 5 wilds high. The number of wilds are added to the total number of symbols in a winning cluster.
Free Spins Feature
4, 5, 6 and 7 scatter symbols will award 8, 10, 12 and 14 free spins respectively.
There isn’t anything mentioned about something special during free spins, except that there are other reels in play. But it does seem that the Cluster Reaction Feature seems to appear more often during free spins.
3 or more scatter symbols will add more free spins.
Bonus Buy
You also have the option to buy free spins for 90 times your bet, awarding 4 or more scatter symbols.
Verdict
Overall I think that Moleionaire is really nothing special. The theme, although there is a mole next to the reels, doesn’t really feel like a wealthy mole theme. It’s just fruits and other forest symbols and the occasional coin as a wild.
Then we have the features. Cluster Reactions seem to appear very rarely during normal spins. And also, somehow the mole sometimes gets into his hole, which feels like something is coming. But then there isn’t. But this makes the spin goes longer, for no reason. I hated that, but maybe that’s just a personal thing.
The free spins are fine, but also nothing very impressive or new.
I really like cluster pays slots and Pragmatic Play has some amazing titles. Moleionaire isn’t one of them, this for me is a very forgettable slot.
