Candy Corner – Overview

Pragmatic Play is well known for cluster pays slot game with candy and/or fruit themes. They have games like Fruity Treats and Candy Jar Clusters. And now another title called Candy Corner. A very colorful game with bright fruits and candy against a candyland scene.

The game uses 7 reels that are each 7 symbols high and comes with cluster pays. Meaning that 6 or more of the same symbols, which are horizontally and/or vertically connected, count as a winning combination. Notice that the 4 corners don’t show regular paying symbols, these are used for special modifiers.

Candy Corner also comes with cascading symbols. All winning symbols are removed and the rest of the symbols fall down into the empty spots. New symbols are then added on top creating the option for another winning combination. This keeps continuing until no more new winning combinations appear.

Fruit symbols are the low paying symbols, while the candy are the high paying symbols. There are also scatter symbols on all reels. Wild symbols can only appear due to the special modifiers.

Candy Corner comes with a nice maximum payout of 10.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.

Modifier Corners

The 4 corners can only land on blank spots or one the following multipliers. During any spin a random number of these modifiers can land in the corners. In the base game only one of the same type can land at the same time.

• Instant Award – instantly award a cash reward of between x2 and 50x bet
• Win Multiplier – awards a multiplier of between x2 and x100 that applies to all wins during the current spin (during free spins when more than one appears at the same time, multipliers are added together)
• Add Wilds – Between 2 and 8 random wilds are added to the reels
• Big Wild – A colossal wild symbols of 2×2, 3×4, 4×4 or 5×5 symbols big is added to the reels

Free Spins Feature

3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 scatter symbols will award 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 free spins respectively.

During free spins more than one of the same modifier can land at the same time, except Big Wild, of which only 2 can land at the same time. There is now also an Extra Free Spins modifier that will add between 1 and 5 extra free spins.

During normal free spins at least 2 modifiers will always appear during any spin.

But it’s also possible that, at random, the Golden Free Spins are triggered. When this happens a random modifier is picked before free spins start that is the guaranteed third modifier during each spin.

Bonus Buy

You also have the option to buy both regular and golden free spins for 100 times and 250 times your bet respectively. This will award between 3 and 7 scatter symbols.

Verdict

To be honest, Candy Corner is one of those game that you might miss or skip over very easily, because the theme is something we’ve seen a lot before. And the title also doesn’t help with that. It’s named and looks like a very generic slot game.

But I do think this is a pretty decent slot. The modifiers, especially when you get more of them at the same time, can award some good wins. And since they are always active during free spins, you can get a lot of good wins during that feature.

The Golden Free Spins are of course a lot better and I do find it annoying that those trigger at random, but you do have the option, although not cheap, to buy them

Overall Candy Corner is not some kind of amazing new slot game that will blow your socks of, but for a Cluster Pays title, it’s a decent one and worth a try.
