Mummy Megaways Overview
It’s time for a new release from NetEnt. And this game is called Mummy Megaways. Doesn’t need much more explanation than that.
Of course the game uses an ancient Egyptian theme revolving around three different mummies, each with their own type of wild symbol.
The game uses 6 reels which are between 2 and 7 symbols high during each spin, giving up to a maximum of 117.949 Megaways per spin.
As with a lot of Megaways slots, winning symbols are removed from the reels, all remaining symbols fall down and new symbols fall on top. Creating the option for another win. This continues until no new winning combinations appear.
During the base spins you will find low paying card symbols and high paying Egyptian themed symbols. There are no bonus symbols and wild symbols only appear during features.
Mummy Megaways comes with a maximum payout of 5.000 times your bet and is a medium to high volatile slot game.
Features
Playful Spirits
Above the reels you will find three different colored sarcophaguses. Which have a total of 30 spirits needed to activate them. During any spin and tumble, up to 6 Playfull Spirits can appear on top of normal symbols. These are collected into the corresponding sarcophagus.
Feature Spins
Filling a sarcophagus with 30 spirits will activate the corresponding feature spins. You are able to fill more than one at the same time, if this happens, feature spins are combined.
- Blue – 3 spins with a random wild during each spin that will add up to 6 other wilds on the reels
- Purple – 3 spins with an expanding wild on each spin
- Yellow – 3 spins with a spreading wild on each spin, that will change multiple symbols around itself into wild symbols
Verdict
To be honest, Mummy Megaways is a bit underwhelming.
It’s a pretty basic setup and all you can expect are those Feature Spins. Collect spirits and get 3 spins. And hope you get more than 1 activate one at the same time. But that seems to be not that common.
And that’s all there is.
The random, spreading and expanding wilds would have been fun if more than one could appear. And yes of course all three different ones can appear at the same time, when all three features are active. But if only one is active, it’s a bit dull. And not that interesting.
I have been playing it for a decent amount of spins and I have never seen a big win.
It’s a shame, because the game does look good and I especially like how the mummies look.
But, as always, check out the game for yourself and let me know what you think about Mummy Megaways.
