Tumbles
Winning combinations are removed from the reels and all symbols fall down. New symbols fall on top and/or are added to the top row of symbols. After this you can get another winning combination and the process keeps repeating until no new winning combinations appear.
Lightning Bolt Wilds
On the top row a Lightning Bolt symbol can appear during both the base game and during free spins. This lightning Bolt symbol doesn’t count as any paying symbol but does trigger a bonus.
When a Lightning Bolt appears it will randomly pick one of the normal paying symbols. All instances of this symbol on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 will now be transformed into wild symbols.
If the Lightning Bolt moves on the top row because of a tumble, it can trigger again.
Free Spins Feature
4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 scatter symbols will award 10, 14, 18, 22, 26 and 30 free spins respectively.

Verdict
Power of Merlin Megaways isn’t anything new. It uses features that have been done before. But they are features that are interesting and can also award some great wins.
I’m always a big fan when they keep the tumbles and the increasing multipliers, which this game does.
They have also added the gamble feature, so you can increase your numbers of free spins. But I have to be honest, be aware of that. I know the game says that winning the gamble is 64% and up after the first gamble. But somehow I seem to lose the gambles 7 out of 10 times, which doesn’t seem to add up. But maybe I was just the unlucky player each time.
Let’s talk about that maximum payout last. It’s massive, especially for a Pragmatic Play slot. Most of their Megaways games go up to 10.000 times bet, so this is a huge upgrade and I like it a lot.
