I hardly ever posted about new ELK releases, but I am trying to add more slot reviews these days, so ELK, which is a popular provider, should be added more.
So here it is, their latest release, Rex Stampede.
This game comes with a dinosaur theme, with all sorts of fictitious dinosaurs. Where the reels are set some dinosaur bones. It makes for a fun looking game.
You will find 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and it comes with 1024 ways instead of paylines. But symbols can also appear stacked, displaying a number on the symbol, for the number of symbols it represents. So ways can go up to 5184 because of this feature.
Besides standard, low paying card symbols, you will also find medium to high paying dinosaurs. Then there are wild symbols, which appear on all reels and can get a random multiplier of x2, x3 or x5. Scatter symbols also appear on all reels. Lastly we have dinosaur paws, which can also appear on all reels.
Rex Stampede comes with a very big maximum payout of 25.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.

If 2 or more of these special Stampede symbols, which are the dinosaur paws, appear on the same row, the Stampede feature is triggered.
Both Stampede symbols and all symbols in between will be transformed into the highest paying dinosaur symbol, the T-rex.
If it happens to be a symbol with a number on it, the new dinosaur symbol will also get that number.
Free Spins Feature
3, 4 and 5 scatter symbols will award 6, 12 and 18 free spins respectively.
During free spins you can also get golden T-Rex symbols. When one of these lands on reel 1, you are awarded with 1 extra free spin.
If they land on any of the other reels, they are collected and once three are collected, the associated dinosaur symbol will change into T-Rex symbols until the end of the free spins. When a new symbol is upgraded you will also receive 1 extra free spin and that reel will become 6 symbols high, instead of 4.
If the stampede appears during free spins, they will always become golden T-Rex symbols.
And wild symbols will always come with a multiplier during free spins.
2, 3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols during free spins will add 3, 6, 12 and 18 more free spins respectively.
X-iter (Bonus Buy)
This game offers several bonus buy and added bonus options. The most important once are probably buying free spins for 100 times bet. And buying Super Free Spins for 500 times bet, which will guarantee a Stampede on every spin.

ELK Studios released a very cool new slot game that uses those upgrading symbols mechanism.
I am always a big fan of these types of games. I just like bonuses like this and ELK doesn’t disappoint.
