The game uses 7 reels that are 3, 4, 5, 6, 5, 4 and 3 symbols high. An instead of paylines, it’s a cluster pays slot. Meaning that 8 or more of the same connected symbols count as a winning combination, no matter where the cluster is on the reels.
Beside low paying gem symbols and high paying Egyptian symbols, you will also find scatter symbols, which are pyramids, on all reels. The wild symbols is an Ankh symbol and can also appear on all reels. A wild symbol counts as any normal paying symbol. But will also remove all non winning symbols it connects when it appears. Lastly there are also special money chests, again available on all reels.
Rise of Pyramids comes with a maximum payout of 5.000 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.
Features
Tumbles
Winning combinations are removed from the reels and all symbols fall down. New symbols fall on top and can award another winning combination and the process keeps repeating until no new winning combinations appear.
Respin Feature
Money symbols can appear on all reels and come with a value of between 0,5 and 1.000 times bet.
When 4 or more of these symbols appear anywhere on the reels, you will trigger the Respin Feature.
The triggering symbols are held and you will receive 3 respins. Now only money symbols and blank symbols appear. Each time at least one new money symbol appears, it is held and the respins are reset back to 3. The feature ends when you run out of respins or fill the entire screen. After this all values are awarded.
Free Spins Feature
4 scatter symbols will award 10 free spins. And each extra scatter symbol triggering the free spins feature will add 2 more free spins.
During free spins a general multiplier is active. It starts at x1 and will increase by x1 after each tumble, this can be a winning tumble or a tumble because of a wild symbol.
More free spins can be win, the same number as how you trigger the bonus.
Bonus Buy

Verdict
I really like the look of Rise of Pyramids. It’s a bit like that movie Gods of Egypt, that also featured a futuristic Egyptian empire.
But that’s also all I can really say that’s great about the game. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good game. But it’s just something we have seen a lot before. A Hold & Spin feature and an increasing multiplier during free spins. All fine features, but somehow I was expecting a little more from such a good looking game.
But, it’s a fine game to give a try and the theme does help a lot.
