Spellmaster – Overview
Pragmatic Play has released a new online slot game called Spellmaster.
And as the name might suggests, it comes with a wizard’s theme. So books, owls and magic wands.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and comes with 50 lines.
Besides low paying card symbols you will also find medium and high paying magical themed symbols. Wild symbols can appear stacked on all reels, except the first.
Then there are three differently colored orbs, which can appear on all reels. These are the bonus symbols and will be explained below.
Spellmaster comes with a pretty massive maximum payout of 40.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Re-spin Feature
As I mentioned above, there are three differently colored orbs. Each time one or more of these orbs land, they are collected on top of the reels. The three orbs on top of the reels can randomly trigger, awarding a Hold and Spin feature.
Only orbs appear during these spins and each new orb that appears is held, except for the special orbs listed below. And will also reset the number of spins back to 3.
One, two or all three orbs can trigger at the same time, combining the modifiers.
- Blue Orb – Every Blue Orb that appears during re-spins will select a random money symbol and give it a frame, that symbol will increase in value before each new spin
- Golden Orb – Plays on a grid of 5×6 symbols and each Golden orb that appears will reveal one of the jackpots, Mini, Minor, Major, Mega and Grand. Collect three of the same jackpot and instantly win that jackpot.
- Red Orb – Every Red Orb that appears during re-spins will multiply a random money symbol by x2. It can pick up to 4 money symbols a time. If more than 10 money symbols are on the reels, the multiplier is between x2 and x10.
Buy Bonus
For 50 times your bet you can buy the feature, which will award 1, 2 or all 3 modifiers.
Verdict
This is one of those games with 3 features on top of the reels, that randomly trigger when the associated symbol appears. There are already several of them around, like for instance Lucky’s Wild Pub.
I personally am not the biggest fan of these types of slots. I don’t like random triggers and to be honest, it’s just another Hold & Re-spin slot, which we have plenty of already.
But Spellmaster does look nice and mixes the features up a bit. And comes with that pretty big maximum payout of 40.000 times bet. Which will get some players excited for sure.
