Hacksaw Gaming has released a new slot game called Steamrunners. Which, as the name implies, comes with a steampunk theme.
Steampunk is always one of those looks that seem to work well with slot games. That historic, futuristic look with steam powered machines.
The reels seem to be set within a zeppelin and it comes with a lot of brown colors.
You will find 5 reels that are 4 symbols high and comes with 14 paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols and medium to high paying steampunk symbols, you will also find wild symbols and scatters symbols. Lastly there are special Wild Gas Canister symbols, which will be explained below.
Steamrunners comes with a big maximum payout of 10.000 times your bet and is a medium volatile slot game.
Features
Wild Gas Canister
There are two types of Gas Canister symbols, green and purple ones.
When a green gas canister lands, it will turn wild and the wilds will spread and transform all adjacent low paying card symbols into wilds and all card symbols adjacent to those wilds as well. So as long as card symbols are connected, they will become wild.
When a purple gas canister lands, it will turn wild and will also turn all low paying card symbols on the reels wild, no matter if they are connected or not.
The wild symbols can also come with a random multiplier of between x2 and x200. If more than one wild symbol with a multiplier is used in a winning combination, the multipliers are added together.
Only one Wild Gas Canister can land at the same time.
Free Spins Features
As with most Hacksaw Gaming slots these these, Steamrunners comes with three different free spins featured. 3 or more scatter symbols will trigger a free spins feature. Depending on the number of scatters that triggered the feature, you will play a different free spins feature.
- Sky City – 3 scatter symbols – 8 free spins where all multiplier wilds symbols that appear become sticky and stay on the reels until the end of the bonus. 2 or 3 scatters during free spins will add 2 and 4 extra free spins.
- Gaslight District – 4 scatter symbols – 10 free spins with the same features as Sky City, but at least one wild symbol is always present on the reels during each spin.
- Court of High Steam – 5 scatter symbols – 10 free spins but one Gas Canister will land during each spin.
Bonus Buy
Steamrunners offers several bonus buy options. For 3x the bet you can activate a 5 times higher chance of triggering the bonus. 50x the bet will guarantee you to land a Gas Canister. For 80x the bet you can buy Sky City and for 200x the bet you can buy Gaslight District. Court of High Steam isn’t available as a bonus buy.
Verdict
Hacksaw Gaming released another great new game with Steamrunners.
Of course the game depends heavily on those Gas Canisters. But they seem to hit pretty often, at least the green one does. The purple one seems to be rare.
During free spins, you also would like them quickly and get multiplier wilds, to really get the game going. And this doesn’t always happen, which can sometimes be a little frustrating. But overall I like the bonuses and features a lot.
The theme reminds me a lot of Cazino Zeppelin Reloaded by Yggdrasil. And is nicely done.
