Novomatic has released a new online slot game called Sushi Fruits.
A game with, as you might have guessed, a sushi theme. But with standard fruit symbols, but also a funny Sushi chef.
The game uses 5 reels which are each 3 symbols high and uses 25 paylines.
Besides low paying fruit symbols you will also find higher paying fish, avocados and sevens. There are no wild symbols on this game. But there is a special Chef symbol on reel 3. All low paying symbols can appear stacked on all reels. Lastly there are scatter symbols, a ninja star, on all reels.
Sushi Fruits comes with a very nice maximum payout of 4.237 times your bet and is a high volatile game.
Features
Chef Feature
Whenever the Chef appears on reel 3, the Chef Feature is triggered.
Fruit symbols come with cash values on them and the Chef will pick one random type of fruit and collect all values from those fruits. The those symbols will spin and when they land on the same fruit again, are collected again. This keep happening until no more of the chosen fruits appear.
If you manage to collect 12 fruit values, you are awarded with the Grand Jackpot, worth 2.000 times bet. The other three jackpots can appear on all fruit symbols and are instantly awarded by the Chef when collected.
Free Spins Feature
3 or more scatter symbols will award 8 free spins.
During free spins the Chef Feature will appear more often.
3 or more scatter symbols during free spins will award 8 more free spins.
Verdict
Sushi Fruit is a bit of a Hold & Collect slot, but also a bit of one of those collection slots, like for instance Toutaris. But it’s done in a different way, which I can really appreciate.
The look and theme is fine, it doesn’t scream amazing, but it’s perfectly OK.
The Chef doesn’t seem to appear a lot during normal spins, but during free spins you will definitely see it appearing, probably more than once.
Overall it might not be a very revolutionary game and it won’t turn heads, but it is very enjoyable.
