Big Bass Xmas Xtreme – Overview

Christmas is coming soon and so we are starting to see new Christmas themed slot releases. Well seems that Pragmatic Play, together with Reel Kingdom, are the first. But this might not be the most interesting or innovating releases we will see. Anything but, because Pragmatic Play just released another Big Bass slot game. And this time it’s a direct clone of Big Bass Amazon Xtreme and is now called Big Bass Xmas Xtreme.

For this latest version they are choosing a more winter theme and also featuring Christmas trees during the free spins. But somehow it all feels a bit forced.

Big Bass Xmas Xtreme uses 5 reels which are each 3 symbols high and comes with 10 paylines.

You will find normal card symbols and symbols like backpacks and penguins. There are also, again, fish symbols, which can appear stacked on all reels and come with cash values. Wild symbols only appear during the free spins feature. Scatter symbols appear on all reels.

Big Bass Xmas Xtreme comes with a maximum payout of 10.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.

Collecting Fish

The fish symbols appear in both the main game and during free spins and have a random cash value of between 0,2 and 1.000 times bet.

During any base spin it’s possible that the fisherman collects all fish on screen. After this the total amount collected will be multiplied with a random multiplier of between x1 and x50.

Second chance

During any base spin, when you get exactly 2 scatter symbols, you might randomly trigger a second chance bonus.

• Respin – If scatters can move down a position on a reel without moving off screen, a re-spin awarded. The reels without scatter symbols will re-spin to increase the chance to get another scatter symbol
• Narwhal – A narwhal will appear and change a symbol on screen into a third scatter symbol

Free Spins Feature

3, 4 and 5 scatter symbols will award 10 free spins.

Before free spins start you will get a screen where you have to pick gifts to reveal extras that will be active during the free spins. If you find a boot the picking ends and the free spins will start. If you happen to trigger free spins with 4 or 5 scatter symbols, 1 or 2 gifts are already awarded.

The modifiers or bonuses you are able to find are:

• Extra Free Spins – Will reveal 1, 2 or 3 extra free spins, which will be added to the original 10, a maximum of 6 extra free spins can be found.
• Guaranteed Fish – Will reveal a +1 Fish. This will guarantee a fish symbol during each free spin. Up to 3 can be found.
• Fishermen Wilds – Will reveal a +1 Fisherman. Which will start the free spins with already 1 wild collected. Up to 3 can be found.
• Remove Lowest Fish – Will reveal a remove lowest fish. Can be found 2 times. The first will remove all x2 fish, the second will remove all 5x fish. These fish will be removed during all levels.

After the picking is done the free spins will start and now wild symbols can appear. When a wild symbol appears together with fish symbols, this wild will collect all values on all fish. More than one wild and/or fish can appear during each spin.

The wild symbols are also collected in a meter on top. Each time you collect 4 of them you will trigger another 10 free spins with a bigger multiplier. Current rounds are finished before new free spins start. You start with a x1 multiplier and new levels will award x2, x3, x10, x20, x30, x40 and x50, After reaching the highest level, you can’t win more free spins.

During free spins several random features can trigger which will award fisherman or fish, when one or the other doesn’t appear.

Scatter symbols don’t appear during free spins.

Verdict

Big Bass Xmas Xtreme is exactly the same as the Amazon version, but with a Christmas theme.

I do think that these versions are the better versions because of the modifiers, so I am happy that they chose that one to clone. But other then that, do we really need another Big Bass clone, or even version? No we don’t!

It’s a good game and I highly recommend it, but I am getting really tired of this series of games overall.
