Deal with Death – Overview
Only a couple of days ago I posted about Hacksaw Gaming’s Circle of Life slot. Well now I’m posting about a new release that’s a bit within the same realm. The game is called Deal with Death and seems to revolve around playing poker with death himself. Where death has been depicted as a robot version.
It’s a very nice looking game with a lot of dark colors and pops of color for the higher paying and special symbols. Death is standing next to the reels, just watching you gamble it seems.
This slot game uses 5 reels that are each 4 symbols high and comes with 14 paylines.
Besides low paying suits symbols and high paying suits symbols on colorful cards, you will also find scatter, or free spins symbols on all reels. Then we also have a Joker symbol, of which only one can appear at a time during a normal spin or classic mode as it’s called on this game. This Joker counts as wild, but will also trigger Poker mode, explained below.
Deal with Death comes with a great maximum payout of 20.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Poker Mode
When a Joker symbol appears and all normal pays are done, Poker Mode is activated.
All symbols will transform into card symbols and each row will count as a poker hand. You want to receive a paying poker hand on each separate row. The hands you can get are two pair, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, straight flush and of course a royal flush which will pay between 5 and 2.000 times bet.
Joker symbols during Poker Mode
After classic mode switches to Poker Mode, the triggering Joker will transform into a joker card symbol. This can be several different types of joker cards.
- Joker – Will transform into a normal poker card, but always picked the best option for that row.
- Hand Multiplier Joker – Will add a multiplier of between x2 and x10 to the row it landed on and will then change into a normal poker card as a normal joker.
- Global Multiplier Joker – Will add a global multiplier to the paytable of the different hands of between x2 and x10 and will then change into a normal poker card as a normal joker.
- Triple Trouble Joker – Will change into a normal poker card for the row it landed on. After all rows are paid, all cards are reshuffled and the three best possible hands are created with those cards.
Free Spins Features
3 or more scatter symbols will trigger a free spins feature. The number of scatters determines the free spins feature you will activate.
- Deal with it – 3 scatter symbols – Keeps the base game features, but with an increased chance to lands Joker symbols. 2 or 3 scatter symbols during these spins will add 2 and 4 extra free spins respectively.
- Dealbreaker – 4 scatter symbols – Keeps the same features as Deal with It, but each winning poker hand will increase the value of that poker hand by it’s own starting value. 2 or 3 scatter symbols during these spins will add 2 and 4 extra free spins respectively.
- Fool’s Gold – 5 scatter symbols – Keeps the same features as Dealbreaker, but guarantees a Joker on every spin. 2 or 3 scatter symbols during these spins will add 2 and 4 extra free spins respectively.
Bonus Buys
Deal with Death offers several bonus buy options. For 3x the bet you can activate a 5 times higher chance of triggering the bonus. 60x the bet will guarantee you to land a Joker symbol. For 100x the bet you can buy Deal with Ir and for 200x the bet you can buy Dealbreaker. Fool’s Gold isn’t available as a bonus buy.
Verdict
Normally I don’t really like slot games that use a poker theme, or poker hands. But somehow on Deal with Death it works very well.
The bonuses are so much fun and somehow very exciting. Especially when you are able to get some of those special joker cards. Which can award some huge awards.
Free spins are also very enjoyable and exciting as well. And a lot of fun since Jokers land more often. I haven’t triggered the Fool’s Gold bonus yet, but that one seems to be amazing and probably guarantees a massive win.
