With Christmas coming up, providers are busy releasing their Christmas themed slots. And so is Quickspin. They have released a new online slot game called Epic Fish – Winter Catch.
If the name sounds a little familiar, well it’s a clone of an earlier Quickspin release called Epic Fish Adventure. But with the added Christmas, or winter theme.
It seems there is only a small increase in maximum win, but for the rest, I don’t see anything new besides the theme. So it’s an easy release for them. And something we see a lot during the Holidays.
This theme still uses the fisherman fishing for Pollock theme, but now it all received a winter look.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 3 symbols high and comes with 10 paylines.
You will find low paying card symbols and high paying other themed symbols. But there are also fish on all reels, which come with a cash value. Wilds can appear on all reels and lastly we have scatter symbols, also available on all reels.
Epic Fish – Winter Catch comes with a maximum payout of 5.190 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.

Wilds and Fish Collection
Wild symbols can appear on all reels and count for any other normal paying symbol. But wild symbols will also collect any fish symbols appearing on the reels. Fish symbols come with a cash value of x1, x3, x5, x8, x10,x15 and x25. More than one wild symbol can appear at the same time and each wild will collect all possible fish symbols on the reels.
Free Spins Feature
3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols will award the Winter Spins, Tight Lines and Golden Pollock bonuses, respectively.
In all three features you are awarded with 12 free spins and each wild symbol that appears is also collected into a meter on top of the reels.
- Winter Spins – Each 4th wild symbol collected will add 1 more free spin
- Tight Lines – Each 4th wild symbol collected will add 2 more free spins. Each wild appearing will also become sticky for 1 free spin, and thus is collected twice into the meter
- Golden Pollock – Each 4th wild symbol collected will add 3 more free spins. Each wild appearing will also become sticky for 1 free spin, and thus is collected twice into the meter. During this feature there is also a Golden Pollock which starts with a x50 multiplier and will increase in a set multiplier each time it appears, up to a maximum of x5.000

Verdict
Like I started with at the beginning. This is just a reskin of the original game. Where only the theme is different.
And like the earlier release, I like the fact that there are three different free spins features. But the last one, that needs 5 scatters, is the most interesting and unique one. The others are pretty basic fish collection bonuses that we’ve seen on other games a lot before
But as with all Quickspin slots, this one looks very nice and is fun to play.
