Killer Night – Overview
Halloween has just been over, but Pragmatic Play still releases a new online slot game with a horror theme called Killer Night.
It seems the game is inspired on classic horror movies, where a killer is after a group of youngsters and a hint of Riverdale, the popular Netflix series, thrown into the mix.
The reels are set against a high school at night that is having its prom. And we see different high school characters like the prom queen and a jock, as symbols.
The game uses 5 reels that are each 5 symbols high and comes with 15 paylines.
Besides low paying items and medium to high paying characters, you will also find wild symbols on all reels. Then we have scatter and super scatters, which can appear on all reels as well.
Killer Night comes with a nice maximum payout of 15.000 times bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Expanding Wilds
Wild symbols can appear on all reels. When a wild symbol appears it can expand a random number of spots upwards or downwards. It can also come with a random multiplier of between x2 to x10. More than one multiplier wild in a winning combination will multiply each other.
Free Spins Feature
3, 4 or 5 scatter symbols will award 10, 15 and 20 free spins respectively.
During free spins all wild symbols become sticky wilds and will stay on the reels until the end of the feature. When a wild lands directly above or below a sticky wild, it will give a random multiplier and than add that multiplier to the wild already there and become a bigger wild.
When one of the triggering scatters is the super scatter, super free spins are triggered, which will guarantee at least 3 wilds on the first free spin.
Free spins can’t trigger more free spins.
Bonus Buy
For 100x bet you can buy the Free Spins Feature. And for 500x bet you are able to buy the Super Free Spins Feature.
Verdict
Killer Night’s theme feels very familiar. Because it uses the classic prom and high school theme combined with horror. Which is a well-known horror theme.
The game uses big reels, of 5 symbols high, but still only uses 15 paylines. Which sometimes makes for a bit of a weird setup, because you expect a win and then it’s not on a payline. I rather they added more paylines, or made the reels smaller. But that’s just a small negative to be honest.
Overall it’s a nice slot game. Sticky wilds are always nice during a free spins feature. And these expand and also come with multipliers up to 10x. Which can award some great wins.
