Money Stacks Megaways – Overview
Pragmatic Play released a game called Money Stacks back in August. Which I thought was a bit forgettable. But somehow that same game now received a Megaways makeover. With some added features of course. So let’s see if this is less forgettable.
As with the original, there isn’t really a theme. It’s sevens, fruit and standard card symbols against a blue background.
The game uses 6 reels that are between 2 and 7 symbols high during each spin. And also a top row of symbols above reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. This setup can give up to a maximum of 117.649 Megaways per spin.
Besides standard card symbols and the different high paying fruit and seven symbols, you will also find wild symbols on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 and scatter symbols, which are golden sevens on all reels. Then there are also money symbols on all reels and collect symbols on reels 1 and 6. More on that below.
Money Stacks Megaways comes with a solid maximum payout of 10.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Tumbles
Winning combinations are removed from the reels and all symbols fall down. New symbols fall on top and/or slide into the top row and can award another winning combination and the process keeps repeating until no new winning combinations appear.
Money Collect
Money Collect symbols can appear on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5. And can appear single and stacked. They come with a value of between 0,5 and 20 times bet, or one of the three jackpot amounts. On reels 1 and 6 special Collect and Super Collect symbols can appear. When at least one collect or super collect appears with at least one money collect symbol, all values from money collect symbols on screen are collected and paid.
A super collect symbol will first fill all spots on a reel where at least 1 money collect symbol appears with other random money collect symbols and then collect all values.
If both reel 1 and 6 have a collect or super collect feature, the total winnings from the money collect symbols are multiplied by between x2 and x10.
Free Spins Features
Money Stacks Megaways comes with 2 different bonus features to chose from. 3 or more scatter symbols anywhere will trigger the bonus and you can chose one of the following two bonuses.
Free Spins with Increasing Multiplier
3, 4, 5 or 6 scatter symbols will award 7, 10, 12 and 15 free spins respectively.
Before free spins start, pick a spot to reveal and added booster, these are +1, +2 or +3 extra free spins, +1x, +2x or +3x added to the starting general multiplier or more specific symbols added to the reels.
Free spins start with a x1 multiplier, unless you have found a higher starting one. Each tumble will increase the general multiplier by x1.
During free spins wild symbols also come with its own multiplier of x2, x3 or x5.
2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatter symbols during free spins will add 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 extra free spins respectively.
Money Spins
3, 4, 5 or 6 scatter symbols will award 2, 3, 5 and 7 Money Spins respectively.
Before Money Spins start, pick a spot to reveal boosters, until you find “That’s the End”. Boosters can be +1 free spin, +1x added to the general multiplier, 2 guaranteed Collect symbols during each spin, 2 guaranteed Super Collect symbols during each spin, more Megaways, more Money Collect symbols on each reel.
During spins only Money Collect, Collect, Super Collect and blank spots appear. At least one Collect or Super Collect is guaranteed to land during each spin.
If you found a multiplier during the picking, all wins are multiplied.
Buy Bonus
Free spins can be bought for 120, 180, 240 and 300 times bet for 3, 4, 5 and 6 scatters respectively.
Verdict
I have to be honest, I like this Megaways version better than the original.
The tumbles make a difference and especially those extra boosters and increasing multiplier during free spins are just a little more fun.
I still think the theme is very boring and the games are pretty similar overall. So I am not sure if players that didn’t like the original Money Stacks will like this version.
Overall it’s a solid title with enough features to keep it interesting.
