Hot Ross – Overview
Hacksaw Gaming released a new online slot game called Hot Ross. Which apparently is a character they have used on other slots before, but seems to be before I started reviewing Hacksaw Gaming slots.
Ross is a classic cartoon looking cat and the game’s theme comes with a lot of black, with pops of pink and yellow. It makes for a pretty good looking game and somehow instantly recognizable as a Hacksaw Gaming slot game.
The game uses 5 reels that are 5 symbols high and comes with 19 paylines.
Besides low paying card symbols and medium to high paying colored symbols you will also find scatter symbols on all reels. Wild symbols can also appear on each reel and lastly there are Ross and Hot Ross symbols, also able to land on each reel.
Hot Ross comes with a big maximum payout of 15.000 times your bet and is a high volatile slot game.
Features
Ross and Hot Ross Symbols
When a Ross or a Hot Ross symbol appears, it will expand if it can become part of a winning combination. An expanded Ross or Hot Ross counts as a wild symbol.
There can only be one Ross or one Hot Ross symbol on a reel at the same time.
A Ross symbol will expand to the bottom of the reels. A Hot Ross will expand to cover the entire reel. A Hot Ross symbol that is expanded will also expand any Ross symbols next to its reels to cover the entire reel.
If a Ross or a Hot Ross symbol expand through a normal wild symbol, it will receive a multiplier of between x2 and x200.
Free Spins Features
3 or more scatter symbols will trigger a free spins feature. Depending on the number of scatters that triggered the feature, you will play a different free spins feature.
- Cat Calls – 3 scatter symbols – 10 free spins with a higher chance of landing Ross and Hot Ross symbols. 2 or 3 scatter symbols during free spins will add 2 and 4 extra free spins.
- Nine Lives – 4 scatter symbols – 10 free spins with the same features as Cat Calls but on top of that, whenever a Ross or Hot Ross landed on a reel, that reel becomes activated. An activated reel is guaranteed to land a Ross or Hot Ross symbol. 2 or 3 scatter symbols during free spins will add 2 and 4 extra free spins.
- Bigg Boss Ross – 5 scatter symbols – 10 free spins with the same features as Cat Calls but also guaranteed to land at least 2 Hot Ross symbols and a wild during each spin. 2 or 3 scatter symbols during free spins will add 2 and 4 extra free spins.
Bonus Buy
Hot Ross offers several bonus buy options. For 3x the bet you can activate a 5 times higher chance of triggering the bonus. 60x the bet will guarantee you to land at least 3 Hot Ross symbols. For 100x the bet you can buy Cat Calls and for 200x the bet you can buy Nine Lives. 1.000x the bet can but you the Bigg Boss Ross bonus.
Verdict
Hot Ross is a quirky looking game with some solid features and huge win potential.
The base game already can award some great wins if you get enough of those Ross or Hot Ross symbols, especially when they go through a wild and award an additional multiplier.
And during free spins, with increased chances to land those symbols, it can really start ramping up the wins.
It’s also nice that this Hacksaw Gaming slot offers the option to but the biggest bonus feature. Where as a lot of others don’t offer that options.
It might start to become boring, but Hacksaw Gaming released another great new slot game with Hot Ross.
